Teddi Mellencamp Shares Update on Immunotherapy Amid Cancer Journey

Teddi Mellencamp is giving her followers an insightful peek behind her posts.

Just two months after celebrating one year since her stage four cancer diagnosis, the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills offered an honest look at what her daily life is like.

Teddi shared on Instagram in June that she’s been receiving monthly immunotherapy treatments since her stage four cancer diagnosis. She recently learned her scans will now only be done every three to four months instead of monthly, which has made her very anxious and worried.

Teddi shared that she’d been crying while documenting one of her morning scan and immunotherapy appointments.

Oh my gosh, she just gets me. It’s like she’s reading my mind! She admitted she wants to be that effortlessly positive person, but honestly? She’s terrified, just like I am. And the loneliness… ugh, she said it perfectly. It’s just… draining. She’s so real, admitting she’s just completely exhausted, and it makes me feel… less alone, you know?

The video began with Teddi expressing some worry, but she—a mother to Slate (12), Cruz (11), and Dove (6) with her ex, Edwin Arroyave—also shared positive news about the results of her medical scans.

The doctor said the scans are clear – there’s no sign of cancer anywhere in your body. When you first came to us, you had tumors in your brain and lungs, but those are gone now. It looks like the treatment worked, and immunotherapy played a big part in your recovery.

He went on to ask, “So, does that mean the cancer is in remission?” He explained that remission isn’t a clear-cut term, but if someone asked him how to describe the situation positively, he’d say, “You achieved the best possible result we could have hoped for.”

Although Teddi was still experiencing side effects from her immunotherapy, her doctor encouraged her, saying that continuing with treatment for a longer period would ultimately be beneficial.

Teddi, diagnosed with melanoma in 2022, concluded her appointment by sharing an important health message.

She explained she regularly checks her skin, noting it’s where her health journey began. She also urged everyone to schedule their own skin checks as a vital reminder.
