2026 has been a dynamic year for Shonen Jump, with the magazine launching several new series but also discontinuing just as many and wrapping up some long-running titles. For every new manga introduced, another one has been cancelled. While the approaching end of some series was foreshadowed, fans were surprised when the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, Modulo, concluded in March. The fandom was even more shocked that same month when Chainsaw Man Part 2 also came to an end, rather than the expected conclusion of Black Clover.
The announcement that Chainsaw Man Part 2 was ending caused a strong reaction from fans, many of whom struggled to accept it. It felt like the story was ending abruptly without proper closure, leading many to hope for a Part 3. This hope increased when the final volume’s release date was announced with the promise of extra content. However, those expectations have been dashed. The extra pages in the final volume don’t continue the story, announce a sequel, or even suggest one – they simply reinforce the existing ending.
Shonen Jump’s Most Revolutionary Series Has Truly Ended, Despite Fans Hoping for Its Return

Recent leaks have revealed extra pages from the final volume of Chainsaw Man, which isn’t unexpected with the release date so near. These pages seem to confirm the series won’t continue. One particular panel shows Denji relaxing by the side of the road with a drink, echoing an earlier scene where he was struggling and broke. The contrast highlights how much his life has changed.
Throughout the series, Denji simply wanted a normal, happy life. This final panel perfectly wraps up his story in Chainsaw Man, no matter what fans were hoping for. It feels like the creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto, is showing us that Denji’s journey is complete – he’s finally achieved his dream of a simple life. This means that even if fans wanted more, Chainsaw Man won’t be continuing with Denji as the main character, and there won’t be a Part 3.
It’s clear Chainsaw Man could have continued for many more chapters, and fans were eager to see the series delve deeper into its darker themes. However, the story ultimately shifted to focus on the protagonist, Denji, finally getting the peaceful life he always desired. The recent twist achieved this by avoiding much of the trauma and conflict from the first two parts, allowing Denji to build a happier future. This may have been Tatsuki Fujimoto’s intention all along – to give his character a real chance at a normal, fulfilling life, and the twist provided a definitive ending to the Chainsaw Man manga.
