Do ya think Rod Stewart is ready to hit the stage once again? He does.
Just days after Rod Stewart unexpectedly canceled two concerts in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, he explained what led to his decision.
Rod explained to the crowd at his June 2nd concert, in a video posted by @jasc24, that he had to cancel two shows last week because he was suffering from a severe sinus infection. He admitted he should have sought hospital treatment, but didn’t.
He revealed that not getting checked out ultimately led to his ears and eardrums getting infected.
“I honestly couldn’t hear anything,” he said. “When your ears are clogged, it really throws off your balance.”
Rod Stewart, 81, is recovering well and preparing for his upcoming shows at the Encore from May 27th to June 6th, and again from August 18th to 29th. However, he jokingly warned the audience that he might be a little unsteady on his feet during the performance.
Despite his ongoing recovery, Rod was in good spirits during his return.
“I’m here with a good voice,” he emphasized. “Enjoy yourselves!”
A spokesperson for the singer of “Don’t Ya Think I’m Sexy?” said in a statement to the Las Vegas Review that he’s cancelled his performances on May 29th and 30th based on medical advice.
For Rod’s part, he expressed his disappointment with the necessary cancellation.

He apologized to his fans, explaining that he’s resting his voice while recovering from a sinus infection. He hopes to see them soon at a show at Caesars Palace or during his tour this summer.
Despite rumors, Rod has made it clear he doesn’t plan on retiring anytime soon. He recently addressed fan speculation about his career ending in 2023, confirming he intends to keep performing.
He posted on Instagram in June to address any misunderstanding, stating he has no plans to retire. He feels he was born to sing and will continue performing as long as he’s able.
Rod is still recovering from a sinus infection, but keep reading to hear about other celebrities who have shared their health challenges.

Ugh, it’s just… growing up, everyone acted like periods were supposed to hurt! Like, pain was just part of being a woman, and you were supposed to silently deal with it. It’s so frustrating because it feels like so many of us are going through this, and we’re all just suffering alone with it! It shouldn’t be like that, you know?

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often harsh nature, because it ultimately helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffy” during interviews, she was surprised when doctors began commenting on her appearance online, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face that prompted her to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. These injections, she learned, had caused the condition, something she wouldn’t have known about without the online feedback. She suddenly began to have stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Tests revealed she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, which doctors identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA discovered Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled through this hole and reached her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side, leading to complete paralysis. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was grateful he was fine.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, twenty days later, on May 4th, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

After that, everything went dark, but she then saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
Let me tell you, I really hit a wall there for a while. I was so unwell, my body was essentially starting to fail. It turns out I had rhabdomyolysis, which is basically your body’s emergency stop button – a way of saying, ‘I need to shut things down before it’s too late!’ It was a scary wake-up call, and I’m sharing my story because it’s so important to listen to what your body is telling you.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache while at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong, suspecting brain damage.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, making it difficult to speak coherently.
After a week, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
