To celebrate 25 years since he first appeared in The Lord of the Rings, Elijah Wood will be making a special appearance this December.
Elijah Wood first became known for playing Frodo Baggins in Peter Jacksonās 2001 film, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. He continued in the role throughout the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, which finished with Return of the King in 2003. Wood also made a short appearance as Frodo in Jacksonās 2012 film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Now, heās confirmed to reprise the role in Andy Serkisā upcoming film, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, set to release in theaters on December 17, 2027.
Elijah Wood will celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring at CCXP Brazil 2026 before reprising his role in The Hunt for Gollum next year. As the main event, āFellowship Foreverā will feature Wood on December 3rd and 4th, with him participating in separate panel discussions each day and meeting fans for photos and autographs.
Elijah Wood is the first confirmed guest for a special celebration at CCXP 2026 this December, and more of the original cast from the Lord of the Rings trilogy are expected to attend. CCXP 2026 will be held in SĆ£o Paulo, Brazil, from December 3rd to 6th, and tickets go on sale June 10th. The festival will announce the complete schedule and other events for 2026 soon.
Last year’s CCXP 2025 featured a major celebration of the 20th anniversary of the popular show Supernatural, called “Road to Hell.” Original cast members including Misha Collins, Kathryn Newton, Jim Beaver, Richard Speight Jr., and Rob Benedict reunited in SĆ£o Paulo for panels, interviews, and meet-and-greets with fans. Now, Roberto Fabri, CCXP’s VP of Content, says Elijah Wood’s recent announcement is the perfect way to start planning this year’s event.
CCXP has a history of honoring beloved moments in pop culture with the people who created them. Following their celebration of āSupernaturalā’s 20th anniversary in 2025, CCXP26 will mark 25 years since the release of āThe Lord of the Ringsā. And to start the celebration, they’re thrilled to announce that Elijah Wood, who played Frodo, will be attending ā a guest they know fans will be excited about.
The festivalās 2025 events featured discussions with Dominic Monaghan, known for playing Merry Brandybuck in the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. Itās currently unknown if he will join Elijah Wood in Brazil in December 2026 for the 25th anniversary event.
CCXP Brazil, created by the Omelete Company, is the biggest pop culture festival in the world. Itās now growing, with events in Mexico and a new festival planned for South Korea in 2027. In April 2026, Liam Crowley from ScreenRant hosted panels at CCXP Mexico, including sessions focused on Spider-Noir and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.
