I’m seriously excited! James Gunn just dropped the first look at Lex Luthor’s iconic warsuit for the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, and it’s live-action! Even better, leaked footage has surfaced showing Nicholas Hoult actually in the suit, doing stunts. This is huge!
I’m so excited! We finally have our first look at Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor! And it’s the real deal – thankfully, they’re not relying on CGI or AI for this iconic villain. Someone leaked some footage from the Atlanta set, and it shows Hoult walking around in the warsuit between takes at the Fox Theatre. It’s amazing to see him actually in the suit – it looks incredible, and I can’t wait to see him take on Superman in the movie coming out in 2027!

This is definitely important, and there are several reasons why. But mostly, DC Comics fans have been eager to see more than just the single image Gunn released of Luthor’s advanced battlesuit. Now, you can finally get a good look at it below!
Lex Luthor Seen Flying In Warsuit in Man of Tomorrow Set Leaks
The big question now is whether he can handle the challenges and action when he faces off against David Corenswet’s Superman in Man of Tomorrow. Will he be able to withstand a tough fight?
Okay, so it looks like Lex Luthor might actually be able to fly, but we’ll have to wait and see if that sticks. But honestly, the coolest thing was seeing him take to the skies in that awesome-looking battlesuit – though I’m guessing it was a stunt double for that particular shot. And the stills that came out? Wow. You can see why he’s trying to escape – Superman is really giving it to him, and apparently, the crowd is loving it!
With filming starting on June 26th, both James Gunn and David Corenswet have full schedules. Corenswet will also make a brief appearance in Alcock’s movie, which makes sense considering Kara Zor-El did the same in the 2025 Superman film. After that, Corenswet will immediately begin working on a sequel.
Unless something changes, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor won’t be appearing in the Supergirl series. He’s currently concentrating on getting used to his advanced battlesuit as Man of Tomorrow works to recreate a famous DC Comics fight for the big screen, and everything seems to be progressing smoothly.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to fly into theaters worldwide on July 9, 2027.
