Fantasy entertainment is incredibly popular right now. This is largely because many young adults grew up reading successful fantasy book series, and now they’re watching those stories come to life on TV and in movies. Over the past ten years, fantasy shows have become hits worldwide, leading studios to invest heavily in both live-action and animated fantasy content. Looking ahead to late 2026, there’s a lot to look forward to with both new and returning fantasy series planned.
Amazon and MGM are becoming known as a go-to place for fans, especially those who love fantasy. Prime Video is already having a strong summer with the return of a popular animated fantasy show, and later this year, the new season of its Lord of the Rings prequel, The Rings of Power, will premiere.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 Tops Streaming Charts
Prime Video’s The Legend of Vox Machina is an animated show for adults inspired by the web series Critical Role. Critical Role features voice actors playing the tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons. The show tells the story of the first Critical Role campaign, also called “Vox Machina,” and a second series, The Mighty Nein, based on their second campaign, debuted on Prime Video last November.
When we usually discuss how critics are reacting to a new or returning TV show, we aim to present a fair view of all opinions. But with Season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina, the response is sharply divided – and overwhelmingly positive. The reviews are fantastic, and that excitement is clearly attracting a lot of viewers.
Just two days after it was released, The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 is currently ranked at number 7 on Amazon Prime Video’s overall Top 10 list, and number 5 among the Top 10 TV shows. Each season of Vox Machina has seen growing popularity, and Season 4 is continuing that positive trend with increased ratings and viewership.
Season 5 of The Legend of Vox Machina will be the last, and fans are already incredibly excited for it. Critical Role has sparked many other potential stories – like the Mighty Nein campaign – which could become spin-off series, meaning the franchise is continuing to grow and improve.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 Has Perfect Scores

The fourth season of The Legend of Vox Machina received rave reviews, earning a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 94% audience score. Critics, like Craig Elvy from Screen Rant, believe the new season solidifies the show’s position as one of the best fantasy series currently available. Elvy stated that the show was already the best, and Season 4 simply reinforces that claim.
Camila Buck from Nerdist says the latest installment is as good as the previous ones. Like classic Vox Machina, it adds fresh characters and challenges while keeping viewers hooked with a smart mix of humor and a compelling story.
Wendy Lee Szany from The Movie Couple strongly believes that Season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina is the best season yet, which is high praise considering the consistently excellent quality of the show. She particularly highlighted the well-written character development and emotional, chaotic, and ultimately perfect storylines.
