Madi Prewett Says It’s “So Easy to Submit” to Husband Grant Troutt

Madi Prewett will accept any rose Grant Troutt asks her to.

A former contestant on The Bachelor is explaining her religious beliefs and why she happily takes a submissive role in her four-year marriage.

According to Prewett, loving God above all else is the key to truly loving your partner. He shared this during a June appearance on The Jennie Allen Podcast with Troutt, adding that it’s clear Troutt prioritizes his faith, making their relationship strong and easy to navigate.

The 30-year-old, who has been sharing her religious beliefs on her podcast, Stay True, since 2024, said she trusts her husband because of his strong faith.

She described herself as strong-willed, but explained that she readily follows her husband’s lead because of his deep faith in Christ. She trusts his spiritual guidance and they share a mutual respect, constantly seeking God’s will together. It’s like they’re always asking each other, ‘What do you feel God is telling you to do?’

And Prewett shared how their dynamic plays out in real time.

Prewett, who hasn’t posted on Instagram since January but still maintains her account, explained that her friend made the decision to quit social media six months earlier. Watching him do so motivated her to consider doing the same.

As she put it, “I’m so grateful for the spiritual leader that Grant is for our family.”

This isn’t the first time Prewett, who shares a 17-month-old daughter named Hosanna with her husband, Troutt, has discussed her views on being a “submissive wife.” She previously explained why she appreciates this relationship dynamic back in December.

Initially, embracing the role of a submissive wife was difficult for me,” Prewett shared on her Stay True podcast. “But now, I absolutely love it and enjoy discussing the topic of submission.”

The reality TV star, who was on Pete Weber’s season of The Bachelor and dated him for a short time after the show, shared her beliefs about marriage, saying she feels a wife should be submissive, respectful, and honor her husband.

I’ve been following this conversation, and it’s so important to me that we understand each other. There was some misunderstanding around a previous statement I made, so I want to be clear: for me, embracing submission isn’t about being controlled or oppressed. It’s a personal choice, and it’s about finding power within that dynamic, not losing it.

I didn’t mean to imply that’s what the Bible says or how we should live,” Prewett explained on a later podcast. “That’s definitely not how our marriage works either.”

Madison Prewett and her husband, Grant Troutt, have announced they plan to use spanking as a form of discipline for their daughter, Hosanna, who was born in January 2025.

In a July 2025 episode of her podcast, Stay True, Madison shared her approach to discipline. While some parents use time-outs, she explained she prefers to follow biblical teachings, which include references to spanking – specifically, the phrase ‘with a rod.’

The former Bachelor contestant—who appeared on Peter Weber’s season in 2020—was quick to add that any physical discipline would be given with a lot of care and affection.

She explained that she’d start by saying something like, ‘Sweetheart, do you understand why you’re in trouble?’ She emphasized that she didn’t want to punish her child, and didn’t like having to use spanking, but that actions have consequences when rules aren’t followed.

Okay, so Madison… my Madison… she shared something incredibly personal in June of 2025. It broke my heart, honestly. She admitted she’s been battling something really tough – she called it an “addiction to sexual sin,” and said it started way back in middle school with pornography. It just… it explains so much, and I just want her to know I support her through everything. It’s awful she’s carried this for so long.

She explained on her Stay True podcast that a particular struggle had held her captive for a long time. Despite her faith, she felt unable to overcome it. ‘I felt like I couldn’t break free from it, no matter how much I loved Jesus,’ she said.

She explained that she would “beat myself up” and often felt “bound by shame.”

After years of hardship, she overcame her addiction. She shared, “I’m grateful for God’s help and the support of my community, which allowed me to stay free from pornography and masturbation for the past ten years.”

Madison wasn’t alone in experiencing challenges with her sexuality. Before they started dating and got married in 2022, Grant had also been sexually active before marriage.

Madison shared that after losing his virginity, he felt like he’d already experienced sex and didn’t see what all the fuss was about.

She explained on the Stay True podcast in June 2025 that he continued to battle with infidelity, continuing to have sexual relationships with other people.

Grant experienced a significant change after finding faith in Jesus and began prioritizing personal responsibility.

Madison explained that he intentionally lived a life focused on moral integrity. He wasn’t flawless and definitely made mistakes, but he consistently strived for a pure and virtuous life.

The couple married in 2022, but their first year together brought not only love, but also a dangerous challenge.

Madison shared on the Stay True podcast in August 2025 that whenever they were home, they experienced symptoms like nausea, headaches, and tiredness. They realized something was wrong because they immediately felt better as soon as they left the house.

The couple was constantly feeling unwell, so they had a specialist inspect their home. He quickly discovered a methane gas leak stemming from their fireplace. They hadn’t known the fireplace needed to be manually shut off each time they weren’t using it.

Madison admitted they hadn’t switched it off since moving in. It had been running continuously for three months.

Let me tell you, Madison and Grant had a real scare! They were so relieved the methane leak wasn’t more serious. Honestly, it could have been a disaster – thankfully, they hadn’t been using any candles, because that could have caused a full-on explosion. It’s a good reminder to always be careful and have working carbon monoxide detectors!

She also pointed out that we couldn’t smell the gas, and honestly, we couldn’t even see it. It was terrifying to think something invisible was impacting us, slowly poisoning us all. It really hit home how dangerous the situation was.

Before she met Grant, Madison was a contestant on season 24 of The Bachelor. She finished as the runner-up to Hannah Ann Sluss for Peter’s affection, but later shared that she struggled during filming.

“It was traumatizing,” she shared on the Unplanned Podcast in August 2025. “ I lost like, 20 pounds.”

And the reality star has had trouble looking back at her time on the series.

To be completely honest, I don’t even think I finished watching the season I was on! I really needed to distance myself from everything *Bachelorrelated afterward, and I still don’t talk about it much, even now. It just wasn’t something I wanted to dwell on.
