Capcom continues to remake its classic games, and they recently revealed the next title in the Resident Evil series. Announced at Summer Game Fest, the remake will be based on Resident Evil – Code: Veronica.
Resident Evil: Veronica is planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, though a more precise release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
Resident Evil: Veronica Is a Remake of Code: Veronica
The new trailer puts you in the shoes of a character inside a building in France. We see them looking through a peephole before suddenly being attacked. The trailer then quickly shows a series of creepy locations, and finally reveals the character to be Claire Redfield, a familiar face in the series. More information is expected to be released soon, and we’ll share updates as they become available.
I’ve been hearing whispers about this remake for ages! There’s been a lot of talk from people in the know, and they’ve even said it could be released as early as 2027. It’s exciting to finally see those rumors potentially coming true!
Many fans enjoy Code: Veronica, though it has some awkward parts. It first appeared on the Dreamcast in 2000, and a slightly expanded version called Code: Veronica X came out for Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in 2001. This updated version was later remastered for newer HD consoles like the PS3, Xbox 360, and PS4, and some of its content was also used in the on-rails shooter Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
