Disney+ is bringing back the popular dating show Blind Date, and sources say Love Island’s Maura Higgins is being considered to host the new version.
Higgins will be hosting the show that Cilla Black famously led from 1985 to 2003 on ITV, originally known as Blind Date.
Since becoming known on Love Island in 2019, Higgins has hosted the Irish version of Glow Up and competed on several popular shows, including Dancing on Ice, Cooking with the Stars, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and The Traitors US.
She’s remained involved with the Love Island franchise, hosting social media content for both Love Island USA and Love Island Games. More recently, she’s also presented the aftershow episodes, ‘Aftersun,’ for both of those series.

According to The Sun, Alex Higgins is likely to become the host of Blind Date. A source close to the show said that talks are well underway.
TopMob has reached out to Disney+ and representatives for Higgins for comment.
Blind Date has been brought back to television before. It originally aired on Channel 5 from 2017 to 2019 and was famously hosted by the late Paul O’Grady.
The upcoming Disney+ revival will have 10 episodes and start with a unique twist: a blind date setting. Contestants will pick between three potential partners, but they won’t be able to see them – they’ll be hidden behind a famous wall!
