Alex Horne has expressed his interest in creating a ‘Taskmaster World Cup,’ where contestants from different countries would compete against one another.
For years, viewers of the British comedy show Taskmaster have wanted a special event bringing together winners from all the different international versions of the program to compete against each other.
Alex Horne mentioned on Richard Herring’s podcast that while he likes the idea, television executives aren’t as enthusiastic about it.
Horne expressed enthusiasm for the idea, recalling fond memories of watching shows like International Gladiators and Going for Gold.
I don’t think the decision-makers are very keen on the idea, especially if it involves someone from Sweden. However, I actually find that quite intriguing and would be happy to see it happen.

Since its debut in the UK in 2015, Taskmaster has become incredibly popular worldwide, leading to versions being created in countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, New Zealand, and Australia, among others.
There’s some good news: Horne hasn’t entirely dismissed the possibility of a UK Champion of Champions, even though he previously suggested the show was planning a change in direction.
In a recent interview with TopMob, Horne hinted that instead of creating a ‘Champion of Champions’ event, they’re planning a unique and engaging series to be announced soon.
We’ve made a few small changes, but I can’t share the details just yet. We have a surprise in store.
I was chatting with Horne recently, and as a past Champion of Champions himself, he explained that a special edition celebrating all the winners isn’t on the cards just yet. He said they need to crown one more Champion of Champions first before they even think about putting something like that together.
I think it’s best to leave a little mystery and not always give people exactly what they expect. It’s good to make them want more.
I suspect many viewers would actually enjoy seeing a compilation of the worst performances, as that’s a frequent request. However, I’m hesitant to celebrate failure by showcasing it.
I was listening to this great podcast with comedian Alex Horne, and he was talking about his children’s book, ‘The Last Pebble’. It’s a really sweet story about a boy and his grandfather who find a special stone on the beach at Bognor Regis and all the mystery surrounding it. It sounded lovely!
The Last Pebble is available to buy now.

The current series of Taskmaster finishes this week, but don’t worry – the show will be back! It was renewed for six more seasons earlier in the year, and an Academy Award-winning actor is already set to compete.
You can watch Taskmaster on Channel 4 in the UK, and everywhere else in the world on the official Taskmaster YouTube channel.
