Morgan Wallen Reacts to “Nonsense” Rumors About Concert Cancellation

Morgan Wallen is certain the weather is the problem.

Following the cancellation of his Pittsburgh concert on June 6th because of bad weather, the artist who sings “I’m The Problem” addressed claims that the weather wasn’t the real reason for the cancellation.

Morgan addressed recent untrue rumors in a video on his Instagram Stories, saying he wanted to set the record straight.

This morning, my team told me they’d spoken with local authorities and advised me to cancel tonight’s show in Pittsburgh. I asked them why, and they explained there would be strong winds. I agreed and trusted their judgment, so that’s what I did.

The country singer explained that while Pittsburgh hadn’t experienced strong winds yet, other areas of Pennsylvania had been affected.

I was worried the stage could collapse and hurt a lot of people, so I did everything I could to prevent that, based on what I knew at the time.

He explained that his real fans understand he doesn’t usually behave that way, but he felt he needed to address the situation.

Earlier in the day, the 33-year-old performer canceled his second Pittsburgh concert on the ‘Still The Problem Tour’ because of a potential storm. Fans who bought tickets will receive refunds.

I’ve had to cancel tonight’s show after speaking with local authorities and my team. The weather is expected to be really bad throughout the day and night, and the safety of my fans and crew is the most important thing.

Almost immediately after the announcement, people on social media started guessing at other possible reasons why he had canceled the performance.

One X user found Morgan Wallen’s cancelled show amusing, joking that they left work at 11 PM to find their car completely dry, with no rain anywhere. They suggested Wallen had already returned to Tennessee, implying the cancellation wasn’t due to weather.

Someone else on X suggested that Morgan was already traveling home on a plane when the news about his Pittsburgh concert being canceled came out.

This isn’t the first time the singer of “Cowgirls” has faced criticism during a concert. He recently got upset when a piano appeared to break down during his May 29th show in Denver, Colorado, and pushed it over on stage.

Days later, Morgan addressed his behavior.

Okay, so here’s a little behind-the-scenes moment from my life! I was sharing on TikTok just the other day about this gorgeous red piano I have. I wanted to let everyone know it was actually working – which, honestly, was a relief because someone told me the same thing the night before! It’s those little wins, you know? Sometimes it’s just nice to confirm something basic is functioning properly, and I thought it was a fun little detail to share.

Wallen captioned his post, “Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano.”

During the March 29, 2025 episode of Saturday Night Live, Morgan Wallen performed as the musical guest and joined host Mikey Madison to close the show. However, after Madison waved goodbye to the audience, Wallen quickly hugged her and left, skipping the usual tradition of staying with the cast as the credits rolled. He then shared a photo of a plane on the runway to his Instagram, adding the caption “Get me to God’s country.”

In April 2024, Morgan Wallen was arrested after police say he threw a chair from the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville. Shortly after, on April 19th, Wallen posted on X (formerly Twitter) explaining he had reached out to the police, his family, and the bar to make things right, and that he took full responsibility for his actions. In December 2024, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and was sentenced to two years of probation and seven days at a DUI education center.

In February 2021, a video surfaced showing singer Morgan Wallen using a racial slur, prompting a swift apology to his fans. He stated he was “embarrassed and sorry” and admitted there was no excuse for his language, promising to do better.

The incident led to widespread condemnation within the country music industry. Several artists criticized him, radio stations stopped playing his music, his record label temporarily suspended his contract, and he was excluded from numerous award shows.

Later that month, in a video posted to Instagram, Wallen acknowledged the impact of his words, stating, “My words matter.” He explained that he had listened to personal stories from Black individuals that deeply affected him, and that he understood the gravity of his actions and the pain his words had caused. He emphasized that his experience paled in comparison to the struggles they had shared with him.

Morgan Wallen was originally scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live in October 2020, but was removed from the show after videos surfaced of him attending a party in Alabama without following COVID-19 safety guidelines. He explained in a social media video that while he didn’t have COVID-19, his actions were irresponsible and jeopardized his career. Wallen took responsibility, admitting he needed to mature and had been seeking happiness in the wrong ways. He announced he would take a break from public life to focus on personal growth. Jack White filled in as the musical guest that October, but Wallen was invited back to perform on SNL in December, even joking about the situation in a sketch.

Country singer Morgan Wallen was arrested in May 2020 for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after an incident at Kid Rock’s Nashville bar. Police reports stated he was throwing glasses and arguing with people outside. Wallen later posted on X (formerly Twitter) explaining he was just having fun with friends and apologized if anyone was upset. The charges were ultimately dropped in July 2020, according to court records.
