Torchwood favourite’s “chilling” thriller confirms return date with all-new first look

The thrilling series The Crow Girl is coming back to Paramount+ for a second season, a year and a half after its initial release. The new season now has a confirmed release date.

The six-episode second season will officially debut on the streamer on Monday 20 July 2026.

I was so excited to see the first images released, and they’ve confirmed Eve Myles – who I loved in Torchwood – will be playing DCI Jeanette Kilburn. Plus, Katherine Kelly, brilliant in Mr Bates vs The Post Office, is joining the cast as Dr Sophia Craven. It’s great to get a first look at them in their new roles!

The show also stars Elliot Edusah, Victoria Hamilton, and Peter de Jersey, who are all reprising their roles from season one.

Okay, so season two is really grabbing me already! It follows DCI Kilburn as she’s trying to find who’s been targeting young asylum seekers, but things get weird. Apparently, the investigation takes a crazy turn when they find a body hidden inside a church wall, and then another one in a freezer! It sounds like these discoveries are going to link everything together in a seriously unsettling way. I’m hooked!

As Jeanette investigates further, Dr. Sophia Craven starts to believe Victoria Burkeman, a troubled woman she used to treat, might be involved. The case becomes increasingly disturbing, and Sophia realizes Victoria knows more than she lets on. Jeanette is forced to confront a frightening possibility: the killer could be someone she knows.

I was absolutely ecstatic when “The Crow Girl” got renewed for a second season! When the news came out, Milly Thomas, the writer and one of the show’s executive producers, shared how thrilled she was to get back to working on it, and honestly, I felt the same way!

It’s been an honor to share Jeanette, Sophia, and Victoria’s stories. I’m thrilled to finally reveal what we’ve made with the amazing team at Buccaneer Media and Paramount+.

I remember Dougray Scott being part of the first season, but honestly, after how things ended, most of us who watched it weren’t expecting to see his character back. It just didn’t seem likely given what happened.

The Crow Girl season 2 will start airing on Monday 20 July. – sign up for Paramount+ here.
