D3 Publisher and Sandlot are bringing both Earth Defense Force 5 and Earth Defense Force 6 to the Switch 2. Earth Defense Force 5 will launch worldwide on October 8th, and Earth Defense Force 6 will follow this winter. Both games will support multiple languages including English, Japanese, Korean, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Yuke’s handled the work of bringing the games to the new console.
You can play Earth Defense Force 5 on PlayStation 4 and PC (through Steam). Earth Defense Force 6 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, through both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Okay, so I’m super excited because Earth Defense Force 5, which a ton of people already love on PlayStation and PC, is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch! I’ve played it before, and let me tell you, it’s a blast fighting off huge waves of giant bugs and robots. The feeling when you finally take down one of those massive enemies is incredible, and now I can experience that on the go!
The Earth Defense Force series started in 2003 as part of the SIMPLE2000 Series. Earth Defense Force 5 offers a fresh start with a new story and setting, making it a great entry point for newcomers and a satisfying experience for veteran players.
The newest installment in the Earth Defense Force series, Earth Defense Force 6, which continues the story of Earth Defense Force 5, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. More information will be shared soon.
