The Toy Story crew has a friend in Taylor Swift.
Just days after releasing her song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the Toy Story 5 movie, singer of Life of a Showgirl attended the premiere in Los Angeles on June 9th. She was joined by stars of the film including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack at the Dolby Theatre.
The Grammy-winning artist wore a stylish, strapless dress from Erdem to the event. The dress had beautiful floral details and a slightly uneven hem. She completed the outfit with brown strappy heels.
It was a special moment for Taylor Swift, who revealed she’d always dreamed of writing a song for a Toy Story film. She even shared a sweet home video from her childhood to go along with the new song. The video shows young Taylor dressed as a cowgirl, complete with a red hat, much like the character Jessie!
As such, writing a piece about her childhood favorite came easy for Swift.
Taylor shared on Instagram June 1st that she immediately loved Toy Story 5 after seeing an early version. She said the experience inspired her to write a song right away, explaining that sometimes you just have that instant feeling about something.
Taylor Swift’s fans have been excitedly anticipating her new concert film ever since she hinted at it with mysterious billboards around the world. These billboards featured her initials, ‘TS’, alongside 13 clouds and a countdown timer displayed in the style of the Toy Story logo.
Taylor Swift has even more exciting events on the horizon this year, including her wedding to Travis Kelce, which is expected sometime this summer. Surprisingly, she hadn’t given much thought to getting married before now.
Taylor explained on Heart Radio in the U.K. that, surprisingly, she never dreamed about her wedding growing up. She said she didn’t start thinking about what she wanted for her wedding until she met the person she would eventually marry.
