Despite frequent friendship conflicts in the show Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney confirms that the cast members don’t have those same disagreements off-screen.
Following the show’s finale on May 31st, the 28-year-old actor spoke about rumors of disagreements among the cast and how those issues may have impacted filming.
“We all grew up together on this show,” Sydney told Vanity Fair in an interview published June 9, “so it’s honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things.”
As for speculation that the now A-list cast had difficulty filming together due to scheduling conflicts, the Anyone But You star refuted the idea, explaining that they all were contractually obligated to prioritize HBO and Euphoria above other projects.
“I was in first position to HBO,” she said. “So the moment they say, ‘Hey, this is the first day of filming,’ I’m legally not allowed to do anything else. So my schedule doesn’t affect the show. And so that was funny to watch everybody spin narratives on it.”
We were all available at the same time, so scheduling wasn’t the problem.
Sweeney isn’t the only one who’s denied rumors of conflict since the show’s final season aired. Jessica Blair Herman, who plays Cassie’s neighbor on the show, previously said the lead actors all got along well during filming.
According to Herman, everything went smoothly. He said the team has built a great working relationship and everyone is eager to contribute and get the job done, as he shared on Good Day NY on April 27th.

Okay, so everyone seemed to genuinely like each other on set, which was amazing, but honestly, making this season was a total struggle. I read that Sam Levinson himself admitted the writers’ and actors’ strikes threw everything off, and then just when things were starting to get back on track, the scheduling got crazy. But the worst part? Losing Angus… it just completely broke everyone, and you can feel how much that impacted the whole production and the delays. It was just… a lot. I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been for everyone involved.
“The fact that we’re actually here and we’re able to pull this season off,” he told Vanity Fairon April 10, “that’s nothing short of a miracle.”
Even though the stars of Euphoria seem to get along well, not all celebrities are friends. Here’s a look at some famous Hollywood feuds…

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is shown second from the left in the picture.)
He told Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay despite a personal issue they’ve been dealing with. He emphasized that the situation is between the two of them and isn’t related to their work on the show, and clarified it wasn’t a romantic matter—something personal that had been building up over time.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately got it because they were the most qualified. I also want to be clear that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne described actor Danny Masterson – known from That ’70s Show – as the rudest celebrity she’s ever encountered. She called him a “rude little boy” and a “dastardly little thing.”
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset when he was on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ Her response was blunt: ‘Listen, don’t challenge me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She essentially told him, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed her current feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and was truly sorry for not taking the picture.
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network will continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, said on Instagram that the actress’s comment was offensive and caused pain to many people.

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without giving proper credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason he and the Forrest Gump star didn’t get along while filming the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.
I directed the film for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along famously. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said. “We clicked.”
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Those who watched The Hills likely recall Lauren’s famous line from the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. It escalated when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler, alleging she had made a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out in 2017 after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. The following month, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.
Tyrese recently discussed the long-standing conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that he still hasn’t spoken to Johnson directly, though they plan to. He did mention having a conversation with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others connected to the franchise. ‘I was the only one who spoke out, and that was my mistake,’ he said. ‘It wasn’t professional or appropriate.’

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began due to a dispute over a dancer and rivalry during concert tours, was resolved when Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, successfully dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and subsequently made some pointed remarks about her co-star.
“What was your reaction to Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that you were never friends just colleagues?” Andy Cohen asked SJP on a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
She was deeply upset, saying she felt heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she explained that she found the situation really disturbing because it didn’t match her memory of what happened.
“So…it’s sad but I’m kind of…I don’t know, I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience is the thing,” she contined. “It was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives. So I’m hoping that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken. That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with is such a privileged.”
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience that he didn’t believe lip-syncing should be considered a live act, and jokingly suggested performers who lip-sync should face consequences, given the price fans pay for tickets.

The former Grey’s Anatomy star sparked a feud with the series creator in 2008 when she removed her name from the Emmy Awards consideration. The actress stated that her reason for the move was because she wasn’t “given the material to warrant a nomination.”
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently demonstrates their true character, you should believe it,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s been a valuable lesson for me.”

It was the New York Fashion Week fight heard ’round the world when Nicki and Cardi got into a heated altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party. The following month, Cardi opened up about the catalyst for the fight with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.
The real spark of the fight came when Cardi saw that Nicki had allegedly liked and then unliked a tweet about Cardi’s parenting skills, which Nicki has denied.
“I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter,” Cardi continued. “I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass f–king mom. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.”

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. While they later reconciled and became friends, their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which included a reference to Taylor.
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began with a 2003 television interview in Germany. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah famously responded, “I don’t know her.”
