Games Done Quick Reveals Its Speedrunning Marathon Schedule for Gamesom 2026

Games Done Quick is making history by hosting its first-ever European event at Gamescom, after 15 years of shows! Beyond that milestone, we expect to see some amazing new speedrunning records. This year’s event supports Gaming for Democracy and will include a diverse lineup of both classic and modern games. Over three days, fans can watch speedrunners attempt unusual challenges, like two players sharing one controller or completing game objectives in reverse. Here’s a preview of some of the exciting highlights coming this year:

Speedrunner Bubzia, famous for playing games while blindfolded, is attempting to beat Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time without looking at the screen. Soon after, Pokémon fans can watch AEtienne play through Pokémon Red and Blue but collecting badges in reverse order. And if you’d like to see a newer game being speedrun, Chelsea in Space and Sophie will be attempting Hades 2 on a fresh save, all while sharing one controller!

The event also features exciting speedrunning challenges, including completing all levels of Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, collecting 70 stars in Super Mario 64, and winning 32 races in Mario Kart DS. Over three days, the marathon will showcase a diverse range of games, from horror to racing and everything in between. Whether you’re a seasoned speedrun watcher or just curious, this event is a must-see. You can find the complete schedule on the official Gamescom website to plan your viewing experience.
