007 First Light sequel teased by Amazon Games boss

After the strong sales of IO Interactive’s James Bond game, the head of Amazon Games has hinted at a possible sequel to ‘007 First Light.’ Considering the positive reception of the first game, a sequel seems like the logical next step.

The team at TopMob Gaming really enjoyed 007 First Light and its exciting, worldwide story. Our Gaming Editor, Rob Leane, described it as a “must-watch collection of James Bond action movies” in his review, praising Patrick Gibson’s excellent performance as a young James Bond.

Many people believe Idris Elba could be the next James Bond, including his co-star Lennie James, who feels Elba is definitely being considered for the role. While Amazon MGM Studios has hinted at upcoming casting news, the identity of the next 007 remains a mystery. Callum Turner, who was previously a leading candidate, has stated he’s not interested.

Regarding a potential sequel to 007: First Light, Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s Head of Gaming, told IGN that while they haven’t officially announced one, they will likely make it if there’s enough player interest. He stated they’ll create it “as long as we feel there’s a desire for players to have the game.”

When questioned about whether sales figures warranted a sequel, Gattis simply stated that one should be made.

Considering the head of Amazon Game Studios, with its massive budget, wants a sequel to 007 First Light, it’s a pretty good bet that one will be made.

The game 007 First Light still has more content on the way. We’re expecting a version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, plus downloadable content (DLC) that will continue the story.

The actors in 007 First Light really brought the game to life, and we’re excited to see those characters – both familiar and new – reappear in future content, whether through downloadable updates or a potential sequel.

This isn’t the first time talk of a sequel has surfaced. IO Interactive, the game’s developer, hinted at a follow-up even before the game was released and reviewed.

Hopefully, it won’t be another seven years in the making!
