Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) family in Coronation Street have noticed his hallucinations are getting more frequent and severe, and they’ve now decided he needs to see a doctor.
Teenager Will Driscoll is struggling with his mental health because he’s being blackmailed by Megan Walsh, who is exploiting him. Beth Nixon plays the role of Walsh, and Lucas Hodgson-Wale plays Will.
They were secretly involved, and both tried to stop Sam from revealing the abuse he’d suffered. Sam tried hard to gather proof, even hiding a camera in her apartment, but Megan fiercely threatened to accuse him of being a peeping tom, effectively shutting him down.
After everything that happened, he really struggled with stress and ended up relying on ADHD medication. It got so bad that he actually collapsed right there in the street – it was terrifying. I’m really worried about him and how he’s coping.
Although he started confronting his anxieties, he still felt deeply troubled. He began imagining Will threatening his life, and lately, he’s been seeing different versions of his close friend Roy Cropper.

Impersonating Roy has led Sam to distrust everyone, and things came to a head in today’s episode.
I was just walking along, totally lost in thought after talking to Chesney, when I suddenly felt like I needed to go to the Rovers. It was like Roy’s voice was stuck in my head, telling me to go see Will. He was down there playing some shooting game on his console, and I just had this feeling I should be there with him.
Roy, fearing Will would also try to kill him, quickly ran inside the cafe for safety.
Inside, the real Roy discovered Sam was very upset. He encouraged Sam to open up and talk to his dad, Nick Tilsley, and stepmothers, Toyah and Leanne, but Sam was frightened by seeing two Roys and couldn’t decide which one was real.
It was heartbreaking to watch – Sam’s parents realized something was seriously wrong and desperately pleaded with him to let someone help. But he was completely under the control of this imaginary friend, Roy, and, tragically, actually threw a chair at the real Roy based on Roy’s instructions. As a film enthusiast, I found the scene incredibly tense and emotionally devastating.
When the group finally got into the cafe, Sam had already left, and Roy was lying on the floor, hurt.

Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) discovered him sitting on a bench, clearly frightened. She attempted to reassure him while discreetly reaching out to Nick.
When Sam saw his dad coming, he tried to run away, but his dad tackled him. Carla recognized the behavior as similar to what she experiences during her own mental health episodes and insisted Sam needed to be hospitalized.
Nick was heartbroken to understand how much his son was struggling, and he tried his best to comfort him and convince him they would be going home.
Sam was so tired that he fell asleep in the car. He woke up with a shock to find they had arrived at Weatherfield General.
Will Sam get the help he needs?
