See Travis Kelce Support Taylor Swift at Songwriters Hall of Fame

At every table, Taylor Swift will save Travis Kelce a seat. 

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce left his team’s practice on June 11th to attend his fiancée’s induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Although Travis Kelce didn’t walk the red carpet with Taylor Swift, he was inside the ceremony at the Marriott Marquis in New York. He joined Taylor, her parents Andrea and Scott Swift, her brother Austin, and his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce.

During the event, Travis and Taylor seemed completely lost in the moment, happily dancing and singing along to performances from artists like Sombr and John Fogerty.

Taylor had a momentous night, becoming the youngest female songwriter to receive the honor of induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The singer, age 36, shared in her acceptance speech that songwriting came more naturally to her than anything else she’s ever done. She quickly added that this wasn’t because it was effortless – quite the opposite, actually.

She noted that songwriting was “instinctual” to her. 

She explained that despite facing many hardships and learning through a lot of mistakes and upheaval, songwriting always came easily and naturally to her – it was the one thing she consistently felt drawn to.

Travis is incredibly impressed by everything Taylor does, particularly when they’re both in the public eye.

He explained to WSJ. Magazine in 2023, soon after they began dating, that she constantly faces intense public attention – from photographers following her everywhere, including outside her home, at restaurants, and even when traveling. He added that if she can handle it all gracefully, he certainly should be able to as well.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Okay, so as a total Taylor Swift fanatic, I was losing it when Travis Kelce – yes, the Travis Kelce from the Chiefs! – tried to get Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it at the Eras Tour. It would have been the sweetest gesture ever! But apparently, she was in full pre-show mode, getting ready and focused, so he just… couldn’t quite manage to reach her with it. Seriously?! So close yet so far! I’m still obsessing over this.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t chat with fans before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he wished he’d been able to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Following a humorous story about a mistake he made – which Taylor Swift playfully called “amazing” – Travis Kelce took a chance and invited her to see him play for the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he playfully challenged Taylor Swift. He basically said since she’s performed so well at Arrowhead Stadium, she should come watch him perform there too – and see which concert is more exciting. He hinted that something might happen soon.

When Travis and Taylor first met, he was sporting a mustache he’d started growing back in August during football training.

He recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were memorable during that time, explaining he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, accompanied by his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” explained that she and her partner had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor invited a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another hint that Taylor and Travis are a couple!

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the fun with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform as part of her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention during the show.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following her performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and excitedly kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that being able to support him doing what he’s passionate about is important, and they prioritize being there for each other, regardless of what others think. It’s the complete opposite of having to hide a relationship and go to great lengths to keep it secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s basketball game on December 17th a family event by bringing her father along to support him.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve as a couple, ringing in 2024 with a sweet kiss at midnight.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, while attending the Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and secured their place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field. They celebrated with a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you.’

During the nearly two-hour conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately. She also announced the title of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast, sparking widespread excitement, the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, came out while she was still on her Eras Tour. The album features songs inspired by her relationship with Travis Kelce, including “The Fate of Ophelia,” which fans quickly dissected for hidden references to the NFL player, and the more explicit “Wood,” where she playfully sings about him unlocking her affection.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Taylor took home seven awards, including Pop Album of the Year for her album, The Life of a Showgirl.
