After investing a lot of time in Crimson Desert, players are excited about new content, including recent updates and planned story expansions. Plus, Pearl Abyss is developing some downloadable content that players will be able to purchase.
Given the frequent updates and new content already released, it’s fair to wonder what downloadable content, or DLC, could actually bring to the game. While the developers’ plans are still uncertain, Will Powers, the PR and marketing director, recently explained their thinking to IGN during Summer Game Fest.
Words matter, so let’s make sure we’re all on the same page about how we’re describing new content for the game. Everything we’ve released so far has been considered updates. Our next project will be a downloadable content pack, or DLC, which is different from the updates we’ve previously released.
That’s the direction we’re taking. We’ve decided to release it as downloadable content – or DLC – for specific reasons.
Expect more than just simple updates – we’re talking potentially significant additions to the game. New armor, weapons, challenging bosses, and extra quests are all possibilities. Considering how much content already exists, Pearl Abyss could really expand things further – maybe even introduce something completely new, like deep-sea exploration?
It’s worth wondering if Pearl Abyss views this large downloadable content package as just a temporary measure. Could they actually be working on an even more substantial expansion for the future?
We’ll have to wait and see how big the downloadable content will be and when it will come out. We’ll share more details soon, so keep an eye out for updates! You can also find information about upcoming features planned between June and September.
