Fans of ‘The Night Agent‘ have something to look forward to: Peter Sutherland and Rose Larkin will team up again for the show’s fourth and last season!
Luciane Buchanan is returning as Rose in the next season of the show. She previously played the love interest of Gabriel Basso’s character, Peter, in seasons one and two, according to Deadline.
It’s not yet known how much of a role Rose will have in season 4; details about her story are still being kept secret.
As a big fan of the show, I was really bummed when Buchanan didn’t come back for season three. Apparently, according to the showrunner Shawn Ryan, they decided to write the character off simply because it made more sense for where the story was going creatively.
We definitely talked about focusing a story on Peter Rose in season 3, that was our initial idea,” Ryan explained to Deadline. “But some of those early discussions felt a bit too similar to what we’d already done in the first two seasons.
We wondered how the show would work without the character Rose, and that exploration heavily influenced the direction of season 3. It was a purely creative choice to explore that possibility.
He expressed his admiration for Luciane both professionally and personally, stating they would enthusiastically ask her to return to the show if a suitable story arc became available.
Buchanan has expressed optimism about potentially reappearing in The Night Agent, suggesting to the media that creator Shawn Ryan and his team might find a way to include a brief appearance for him in the future.
The next season of The Night Agent will be its last on Netflix, concluding Peter Sutherland’s story with one final mission.

Joel Basso will reprise his role in season 4, and several new actors will be joining the cast. Titus Welliver will play Duval, a special prosecutor from the DOJ, while Trevante Rhodes will appear as Peter’s new partner, Dom. Li Jun Li will play Dom’s wife, and Elizabeth Lail will join as Zoe, Peter’s former fiancée.
