The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2026 are a little different than usual. The selection includes a lot of very specific or less popular titles. While subscription services can be a good way to let people discover hidden gems, this month’s lineup leans heavily towards those kinds of games. Even so, there are still a few titles that might be worth checking out.
Here’s a comparison of the eight games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in June 2026. Unlike previous months, these games will be added to the service throughout the month, rather than all at once.
8) Life is Strange: Double Exposure

The Life is Strange games often get mixed reactions, but Life is Strange: Double Exposure is widely considered the weakest entry in the series. While it brings back Max Caulfield, the story isn’t very engaging. Max’s dialogue feels unnatural, and the supporting characters aren’t well-developed, making the experience frustrating. Safi Llewellyn-Fayyad is a bright spot, and the game might have been better if it focused on her instead of Max. Unfortunately, she can’t save the game, highlighting how uninspired the rest of it is. It’s especially strange that the developers tried so hard to revisit the past, considering how well Life is Strange: True Colors moved the series forward.
7) Farming Simulator 25

The Farming Simulator series appeals to a very specific audience, and Farming Simulator 25 continues that trend. It’s a solid, though not groundbreaking, addition to the franchise. The game offers a relaxing experience – players can enjoy driving tractors and harvesting crops – but also requires some strategy in managing crops and maximizing profits throughout the year. While occasional performance issues and poor voice acting hold it back, and it might be difficult for newcomers to get into, Farming Simulator 25 remains unique in its genre.
6) Black Desert

Following the success of Crimson Desert, Black Desert lets players experience the game that first made developer Pearl Abyss well-known. However, they offer different gameplay experiences – Black Desert is a traditional MMORPG with many typical features. Be prepared for lots of notifications, a cluttered screen, and repetitive tasks designed to keep you playing for hours. This game has been in development for over eleven years! While the combat looks impressive and offers diverse options, it largely sticks to familiar action RPG styles. Because it’s available on PlayStation Plus, it’s easy to try out, which is great considering how much time these kinds of games usually require.
5) Blades of Fire

When Blades of Fire launched in 2025, it didn’t make a strong impression, with many finding it uninspired and lacking excitement. While the game recently received a major 2.0 update – heavily promoted by the developer, MercurySteam – the improvements don’t fully address its core problems. The gameplay still becomes repetitive, and it remains a fairly standard action RPG, even with its interesting weapon crafting system that involves a detailed mini-game. Though additions like New Game Plus, a higher difficulty setting, and a photo mode are nice touches, they don’t dramatically change the overall experience, and the game ultimately remains an average title despite the ‘2.0’ label.
4) Gitaroo Man

Okay, so I recently checked out Gitaroo Man, and honestly, it’s a really unique experience – the kind of game you just don’t see much these days! Basically, you play along with the music by hitting buttons or moving the stick. It sounds simple, and it is, but the art style is amazing, the songs are super catchy, and it’s just…different. That makes it a really cool addition to where I’m playing games now, because more people can actually get their hands on it. It’s not a massively complex game or anything, but it has such a great feel, and it’s short enough that I didn’t get bored with the gameplay.
3) Sonic X Shadow Generations

Many fans consider Sonic Generations a highlight of the series, and that success carries over to Sonic X Shadow Generations. The game cleverly blends classic 2D Sonic levels with 3D stages, letting players experience both styles of gameplay with the series’ signature speed. While the classic levels work great for both Sonic and Shadow’s stories, Shadow’s new stages add fresh abilities and a hub world to explore. These additions give the package extra content and make it feel like more than just a simple re-release.
2) Final Fantasy 16

The move to faster, more action-focused combat in Final Fantasy 16 was unexpected, but it doesn’t detract from the game’s quality. The combat feels great, allowing players to chain attacks and use magic effectively. However, battles can become repetitive, highlighting why action games tend to be shorter than traditional RPGs.
Clive Rosfield is a compelling and believable protagonist, delivering a strong performance. While Final Fantasy XVI features surprising plot twists, its lengthy playtime feels padded with unnecessary side quests. The game would have been more impactful as a concise experience, allowing its incredible action sequences to truly shine. Despite not reaching the heights of some previous titles, these strengths combine for a generally enjoyable adventure.
1) Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was a standout game of 2025, offering significantly more depth than the already impressive original. The first game remains a compelling RPG experience, drawing players into its world with intricate systems that demand thoughtful decision-making – everything from your appearance to your armor impacts how you’re treated. This reactive world creates a level of immersion rarely seen in other games. Combat is also remarkably realistic, requiring careful timing and stamina management for success. Though challenging to learn, the skill-based swordplay feels incredibly rewarding. Now that it’s available on PlayStation Plus, more players can easily discover this acclaimed title and see what all the hype around its sequel is about, highlighting how valuable adding slightly older games can be to the service.
