SNES Exclusive Trilogy Officially Getting New Re-Release This Month

A three-game series originally released for the Super Nintendo is coming to PC on June 29th! These games were previously re-released on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, but only in Japan. This new release will be available worldwide through Steam and marks the first time Western players can access the collection. However, it’s important to note that the game currently only supports Japanese language – so you’ll need to understand Japanese to play.

Sting recently announced that on June 29th, they will be bringing Dokapon 3-2-1: Super Collection! to PC through Steam. This collection includes three classic SNES games – Dokapon Kingdom IV: The Legendary Heroes, Dokapon 3-2-1: Friendship That Stirs the Storm, and Dokapon Gaiden: Flame no Audition. While these titles were originally only available in Japan on the Super Nintendo between 1993 and 1995, they did see a release on the Nintendo DS. However, an official English translation has never been made, and fans are still hoping for one.

Forgotten SNES Games

This new collection brings together three classic Dokapon games filled with legends, friendships, and exciting battles! It plays like a mix of role-playing games and board games, but it’s really a wild, unpredictable competition where anything can happen.

These games haven’t been completely rebuilt, but they’ve been improved with several new features. Players can now save and load anywhere, rewind gameplay, and even change the game speed—slowing it down to half speed or speeding it up to three times the normal rate. The collection also includes digital versions of the original game manuals and bonus artwork, including rare character designs by Ami Shibata.

The game’s Steam listing doesn’t show how much it will cost, and there’s no word yet on whether it will work with the Steam Deck. This likely means it won’t be officially ‘Steam Deck Verified’ when it releases later this month.

If you’re not excited about this retro release, there’s another classic SNES game coming out this month on June 18th: Soccer Kid. It’s perfectly timed to coincide with the World Cup.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! Please share them in the comments below, or continue the discussion with other gamers on the ComicBook Forum.
