The Blood of Dawnwalker Reaches Nearly 1.5 Million Wishlists Before September Launch

Just before releasing the newest trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, Rebel Wolves surprised fans with a scene showing the main character, Coen, ordering blood bags for delivery – almost like ordering food through Uber Eats. He needs them to stay alive before facing off against someone who appears to be a vampire hunter. The developers clarified this wasn’t meant to be a spoiler, but a way to show how they’re building out the game’s world.

The future of Rebel Wolves and its potential sequels largely hinges on how well the first game performs. According to CEO Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the studio’s immediate priority is to generate enough revenue after launch to fund a sequel and continue growing the company. He added that if the game is even more successful than anticipated, that would be a welcome outcome. Ultimately, Rebel Wolves aims to build a supportive environment that encourages creative development.

Okay, so we haven’t seen the actual pre-order numbers yet, but the studio head, Tomaszkiewicz, said they’ve got around 1.5 million wishlists on platforms like Steam. Honestly, they’re pretty pleased with how things are going, but they think those wishlists are actually more important than pre-orders. He explained that a lot of players like to wait for reviews and see what others think before they buy, so wishlists give them a better idea of how many people are actually interested. Basically, they’re not stressing about selling a ton of copies right away, though of course, that would be awesome! They’re playing the long game, and that’s cool with me.

We also plan to release some smaller, free downloadable content for players who join the game later on. The development team is currently planning future updates – we don’t have anything confirmed yet – but we’re aiming for a similar amount of post-launch support as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received.
