Okay, so I just heard that The Bear is ending after season five, which is a total bummer! I’ve been a huge fan of that show – it’s seriously one of the best comedy-dramas on Disney+ right now, and I’m going to miss it when it’s over. It’s sad to say goodbye, but at least we’ll have one last season to enjoy!
Edwin Lee Gibson, who has been a key part of the show since the beginning as Ebraheim, recently gave TopMob an exclusive preview of what to expect in the final season.
I remember finding out about Season 5 last summer – Gibson actually told me they had a feeling then! We didn’t know for sure it would be the very end, but honestly, being on set, we all started to get that vibe.
When we finally received the last episode, everyone was pretty disappointed. Of course, we all hoped for a stronger finish.
Gibson explained that he particularly enjoyed the scripts for season five and was enthusiastic about the character development of Ebraheim from the fourth to the fifth season.
It was great to see how Christopher Storer put together season five. Even though the final episode was incredibly emotional, it felt like a natural conclusion. I definitely think there’s potential for the story to continue, though.

Gibson’s comment that there’s potential for more story is sure to excite fans, suggesting that even if the current season is the last, the world of The Bear could be revisited in the future.
When questioned about how Ebraheim’s character changes in season 5 compared to earlier seasons, Gibson simply replied, “More.” He didn’t offer any further details.
He believes people will be pleased, but also anticipates they’ll want to see even more from him. He’s really looking forward to how everyone will respond.
I thought the show was giving Ebraheim more freedom to show his personality, which is something viewers have been wanting. While the story needs to balance all the characters, my responsibility as an actor is to ensure his character remains prominent. I believe the audience will be very pleased and eager to see more of him.

Season 5 of The Bear will bring back all the main characters, including Carmy (played by Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (played by Ayo Edebiri), and Richie (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
The new season begins with Sydney, Richie, and Natalie reeling from the news that Carmy has left the restaurant and the culinary world, leaving them in charge.
Facing financial difficulties, the possibility of losing their restaurant, and a severe storm, the new partners and their team must pull together to deliver one final, exceptional meal. They’re hoping to earn a coveted Michelin star, but ultimately discover that a restaurant’s true success isn’t just about the food – it’s about the people who make it special.
Season 5 of The Bear will arrive on Disney+ on Friday, June 26, 2026. You can subscribe to Disney+ starting at £5.99 per month.
