Now that Stranger Things has finished with its latest season late last year, the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, are starting new ventures. One of those projects now has an official release date.
I’m really excited to hear that the brothers are making the leap to feature films! They’re writing and directing this new project together, and while details are scarce, it’s being billed as a major cinematic event – which definitely has my attention. It sounds like something big is coming!
This movie, the first project under the duo’s new agreement with Paramount, is scheduled for release on November 3, 2028, meaning fans will have a bit of a wait. However, those who follow Stranger Things are accustomed to longer gaps between seasons.

Last August, the brothers finalized an exclusive contract with Paramount. Through their production company, Upside Down Pictures, they’ll be creating movies, TV shows, and streaming content for the studio.
The Duffer brothers were reportedly drawn to creating films with traditional theatrical releases, which was a key factor in their decision to leave Netflix.
When they announced the agreement last year, they explained that their new company was dedicated to producing exciting and unique movies for theaters. They also expressed their excitement about working with a studio that has such a long and respected history in Hollywood, saying they felt honored by the opportunity.
Since Stranger Things wrapped up its last season, I’ve been really impressed to see what the Duffer Brothers have been up to. They’ve stayed busy as executive producers on three more Netflix projects: Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, The Boroughs, and a cool animated Stranger Things spin-off called Tales from ’85. It’s great to see them continuing to create!
