Another Sony Security Concern: PS5 Games People Don’t Own Are Appearing on Their Profiles

You might remember a recent security problem where some PlayStation 5 accounts were hacked. This happened because attackers convinced customer service representatives to give them access.

Sony seems to be improving its security, but some players are noticing strange activity happening with their PlayStation Network accounts – and it’s even more unusual than previous issues.

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this weird thing on Reddit where people are saying games are showing up as ‘played’ on their accounts even though they’ve never bought, downloaded, or even launched them. It’s like the games are magically appearing on their profiles, and it’s pretty freaky!

The example in the original post shows the user had recently been playing a game called Sex Store Simulator.

Reddit user xviixvo points out this claim is false, and the game isn’t even available for purchase or download on the PlayStation Store. This means it would have been impossible for them to have played it.

Someone posted another screenshot in the comments, and it’s for a game called Hentai Princess. Honestly, I looked all over the PlayStation Store and couldn’t find a page for it anywhere – it seems like it’s not publicly available!

Several new games are also becoming popular, such as Avatar Island, Sex Shop Simulator, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Germany Quiz.

I haven’t noticed anything happening with my own account, but I’m hearing from enough other people that it seems like something real is going on.

We don’t know why this is happening, but it’s brought up worries about how secure PlayStation really is.

It looks like there might be a mistake – the limited availability of some games suggests the platform provider accidentally made them unavailable.

Sony rarely comments publicly, even when things are going well, so it’s doubtful we’ll get a clear answer about what happened. However, I’ve contacted them and will share any information I receive.
