
More information about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has been released, detailing new gameplay features and what players can expect after finishing the story. Unlike FF7 Remake and Rebirth, which offered limited post-game content, Revelation will heavily focus on things to do after the credits roll. This means players will be able to continue enjoying the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy even after the main story ends.
The latest updates to FF7 Revelation are adding exciting new elements to the remake series, like a classic JRPG “Job” system that lets you customize characters’ appearances and fighting styles. This adds more strategy to battles and allows for diverse team combinations. Plus, the game is introducing two new playable characters: Vincent Valentine and Cid, further expanding your options.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Is Planned To Have Much More Endgame Content Than Remake Or Rebirth

As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear the director of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, Naoki Hamaguchi, talk about the endgame! He said Revelation will have a lot more to do after you finish the main story, way more than Remake and Rebirth. Apparently, with those earlier games, the idea was to get us to replay the whole thing on a harder difficulty. But with Revelation, they’re really focusing on building out a substantial postgame experience, which sounds amazing!
The developers of FF7 Revelation are planning to add plenty of optional things for players to do after they’ve become powerful. Like the original Final Fantasy 7, the game will feature a very open world, letting players choose what they want to do without being forced down a single path. Hamaguchi suggested that some of the most difficult challenges won’t be available until after the main story is finished.
Beyond the potential endgame content, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake differ in several ways, including the freedom players now have to explore almost any area they choose. According to Hamaguchi, the third and final game in the series might be the most challenging thanks to expanded postgame content. While classic Hard mode or New Game+ features are still possible, Revelation‘s focus on optional postgame content could make it the biggest game in the remake trilogy.
Higher Level Caps & Larger Open World Exploration Should Expand Player Adventures

One of the exciting features of the endgame in Revelation is its expansive open world and increased level cap compared to Rebirth and Remake. While FF7 Remake limited characters to Level 50, and FF7 Rebirth to Level 75, Revelation lets players reach the classic Level 99 – mirroring the maximum potential of teams in older Final Fantasy games.
Some of the most challenging content in Revelation won’t become available until all your characters reach their highest levels. Luckily, the game features a large, open world that you can explore freely – you won’t be blocked from revisiting areas based on the story. You can take your team to places like Midgar and Wutai to complete optional quests and challenges that unlock as you play. Players who want to fully complete the game and access the toughest postgame content will spend a lot of time traveling, so the game’s expansive world is a real benefit.
Extra Challenges From The Original FF7 Would Be Welcome In Revelation’s Postgame

While much of the late-game content for FF7 Revelation is still a mystery, we know one major challenge players will face: the Weapon bosses. Similar to the original Final Fantasy 7, these massive creatures are summoned by the planet in response to Sephiroth’s Meteor. FF7 Revelation takes a cue from the classic game by making at least some of these Weapon battles optional, only unlocking them after your party reaches the maximum level in the endgame.
It’s no surprise that FF7 Revelation is including the Weapons as bosses, as they’re almost as famous as Sephiroth from the original game. Both Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon will be challenging endgame encounters in Revelation, appearing on the world map after players meet specific requirements. In the remake series so far, Weiss the Immaculate from FF7 Remake‘s Intergrade is the only boss comparable in scale and difficulty.
As a huge fan, I’m really hoping they add more challenging things to do after the main story in Revelation. I loved the Weapon battles, and even something like the mini-games from Rebirth would be great! It would be amazing if they expanded Queen’s Blood and Fort Condor, maybe with harder levels for dedicated players. Honestly, just giving us more to do at the endgame would be fantastic, even if it means revisiting those classic battles against the Weapons. It feels like there’s so much potential, and I’m excited to see what they come up with!
