Gilmore Girls? It’s a show. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a religion. It’s no longer on Netflix.
The popular WB show, featuring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as the mother-daughter pair Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, will soon be removed from Netflix – a surprise exit similar to Rory’s unexpected leave from Yale.
Netflix announced on X (formerly Twitter) on June 15th that all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls will no longer be available on their US streaming service after June 30th. They also shared a nostalgic message thanking fans for ‘visiting Stars Hollow’ with them.
Gilmore Girls has been available on Netflix for quite a while – since 2014, around the time Babette started enjoying her oatmeal! That was just a year before Netflix began working on the four-part revival, A Year in the Life, which was released in November 2016.
Although Netflix is no longer making new seasons of the show – featuring stars like Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, and Keiko Agena – you can still watch the revival miniseries A Year in the Life there. If you’re looking for the original series, it’s been available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ for more than a year.
Will the actors ever revisit Stars Hollow? Since the show’s revival, both fans and the cast have been hoping for a resolution to the big question left hanging at the end of the 2016 season.
Actually, Alexis Bledel got the idea to explore a potential storyline involving snow after suggesting a Christmas episode for the Gilmore Girls revival. Amy Sherman-Palladino, the series creator and showrunner, described it as a “very cute” suggestion in an interview with TopMob News.

Although Amy Sherman-Palladino stated they weren’t currently in talks for another Gilmore Girls series, her husband and producing partner, Daniel Palladino, shared that they frequently discuss the possibility of revisiting the show in the future.
He admitted they hadn’t anticipated the possibility of Netflix making movies based on the show. They’re always brainstorming ideas for Stars Hollow, as anything uniquely American sparks inspiration for the town. However, there aren’t any concrete plans in the works at the moment.
So far, neither Alexis Bledel nor Lauren Graham has revealed who Rory’s baby’s father is – whether it’s Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), Dean (Jared Padalecki), or Logan (Matt Czuchry).
The cast, however, has had no trouble pledging their allegiance to a team.
For Patterson—aka Luke Danes—he’s team Wookiee.
He told TopMob News in October that he believes all of Rory’s potential partners are unsuitable. He expressed concern that they all have problematic pasts and doesn’t want Rory to get involved with any of them.
Patterson has expressed hope that Rory will find a new love interest, especially considering her storyline in the revival.
He believes she’s entering a new phase of her life and needs to focus on herself. Once she does that, the right person will come along, because she’ll be prepared. But he feels the three men from her past simply helped her through adolescence and it’s time for her to move on.

He took legal action against her father and nearly ruined Luke and Lorelai’s new relationship. Everyone knew him as Digger. That pretty much says it all.

They were young and impulsive when they got married – a decision that didn’t work out well. He was unfaithful, and she ended up feeling disappointed, with the sole consolation being a surprisingly good (though somewhat bitter) meatloaf recipe.

It’s hard to believe such a beautiful gesture – a proposal with a thousand yellow daisies – was completely lost on someone like Max Medin. What a disappointment!

Do you remember when Luke unexpectedly got married to Nicole while they were on a cruise? Then she was unfaithful to him. It’s something everyone would rather not dwell on.

Ick.

Sorry, but the fact that he called her Mary (you know, Virgin Mary?) still creeps us out.

Rachel was Luke’s first girlfriend, but she always wanted more than life in the small town of Stars Hollow could offer. She was incredibly kind and helped Luke understand he had strong feelings for Lorelai. Everyone owes her a thank you!

Let’s be real: Lane was a much better choice than Zack. He just seemed like a temporary replacement after Adam Brody left the show, and honestly, he never felt like the right person for the role. He was a rebound, not a lasting fit.

They were an unusual couple with an unconventional relationship. It wasn’t a grand love story, but she supported him through his difficult nightmares, which felt like a real act of love.

Dave was truly unforgettable—or maybe you remember him as Seth Cohen from The O.C.! He even wrote a sweet inscription in his bible: “This bible belongs to God but is being borrowed by Dave Rygalski.” It was incredibly charming, and we were all totally smitten.

First loves are memorable, but staying in a complicated relationship for years isn’t always a good idea. We weren’t convinced these two were truly meant to be, and we especially didn’t approve of their decision to elope without including their daughter, Rory. It was a deeply hurtful thing to do.

Fact: These two could take over and run their own country. They were made for each other.

It’s easy to overlook them, but the Soughs were actually one of Stars Hollow’s most dependable couples. They blended into the background until you unexpectedly needed a little help – like borrowing a cup of sugar.

Dean was her first love, and he even built her a car. However, he also had an affair with Rory, which definitely complicated things. That experience pretty much destroyed any chance of a future relationship for many viewers. Despite everything, seeing them reconnect briefly in A Year in the Life felt unexpectedly sweet and nostalgic – like running into a childhood sweetheart after a long time.

They truly brought out the best in each other, with her inspiring him to grow and him helping her discover her passions. Though often compared to Rory’s other boyfriends, Logan is a surprisingly strong contender – and many fans believe he might even be the father of Rory’s child! This has everyone hoping for another season of the show to find out for sure.

He was Rory’s most challenging and frustrating love interest – the quintessential bad boy. It’s a shame they didn’t meet when they were older, and their short scene in the Netflix revival clearly showed their strong connection hadn’t faded.

Lorelai and Rory often had complicated relationships, but Sookie and Jackson’s love story felt refreshingly straightforward and heartwarming. It just goes to show, sometimes the best love is found in the little things – like playfully arguing over groceries!

“Could you please hold still?” Seriously, their first kiss was perfect – truly the best ever. And honestly, everything else about their relationship was amazing too. (If only April Nardini, Luke’s daughter, hadn’t complicated things… let’s just forget she existed, okay?)

Emily protested, “Absolutely not! I refuse to accept your death, and I won’t let it happen – not tonight, and not for a long time. I insist on going first. Do you understand?” Richard replied, “Yes, Emily. You can go first.”
This moment from the show’s earlier seasons felt much more powerful when it reappeared in the revival, especially knowing that actor Edward Herrmann had passed away in 2014. Seriously, I’m still crying!
