EastEnders and Spooks favourites star in first look at all-new play called “quietly heartbreaking”

The world premiere of Liesl Wilke’s new family drama, The Hidden Dangers of Camping, will feature appearances by stars Charlie Brooks and Max Brown.

Directed by Bronagh Lagan, this play—praised for being funny, sincere, and deeply moving—will be performed at Windsor Theatre Royal from July 17th to 25th.

A family getaway turns into a weekend of revelations when Casey confronts difficult truths about her daughter and a seemingly idyllic camping trip from her own childhood. Old secrets emerge, changing everything for everyone involved.

I’ve always been so impressed with Jo Joyner – she’s truly brilliant! Most people recognize her as the unforgettable Janine Butcher from EastEnders, but she’s also a fantastic stage actress. I was lucky enough to see her in productions like ‘The Ocean at the End of the Lane’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ and she completely blew me away each time.

Brown is recognized for his roles as Dimitri Levendis in the BBC series Spooks, Edward Seymour in Showtime’s The Tudors, and Evan Marks in The CW’s Beauty and the Beast.

The show features performances by Polly Allen, known for her role in Hetty Feather, Alix Dunmore from The Sister Boniface Mysteries, Sandra James-Young who appeared in Small Island at the National Theatre, Sophie Mensah (The Cage), and Scarlett Nunes (The Crucible at Shakespeare’s Globe).

The cast also includes Stephen Rahman-Hughes, known for his work in “The King’s Speech” and at The Watermill Theatre, Olivia Woolhouse who appeared in “Noises Off” at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, and Jess Nesling, previously seen in “The Constant Wife” with the RSC.

As a total movie and TV buff, I’ve been following the work of Molly Moss at TopMob for a while now. She’s one of the people keeping me up-to-date on everything happening in the entertainment world. It’s no surprise she’s so good – she’s got a master’s degree in journalism and has already written for some really big names like The Guardian, The Times, and The Sun Online. Definitely someone to watch!
