How Jesse Metcalfe’s Girlfriend Reacted to Scheana Shay’s Book

Jesse Metcalfe‘s girlfriend has never been desperate for information on his past.

The actress who starred in “Desperate Housewives” and had a romance with Scheana Shay during the early 2000s, revealed that his current partner, Helene Immel, remains untroubled by Scheana’s disclosures about their past relationship in her latest book, “My Good Side.

As Jesse told People in an interview published July 31, “She wasn’t even affected by it.”

It appears that the 46-year-old actor remained unscathed by the situation, given Scheana’s complimentary remarks about him. Notably, she praised him as an “amazing individual” and felt like she was immersed in a “real-life fairy tale,” a sentiment Jesse described as “very heartwarming.

He told the outlet, “It’s nice to have people say nice things about you.”

Indeed, Jesse, who’s been romantically linked with the German singer since 2023, continues to maintain a cordial relationship with Scheana, an ex-girlfriend from his twenties.

Occasionally, I bump into Scheana at various functions,” he shared with TopMob News on the 26th of July. “She’s an incredibly kind individual, and I’m genuinely pleased about her achievements.

Still, he was surprised to have been included in her book since their relationship was brief.

“I was like, ‘This again?’” he shared. “It was a really, really long time ago.”

He continued, “I guess it’s a story worthy of print, but it’s not a story for me.”

Although Scheana gets along well with many people, it’s worth noting that her feelings towards some of her past relationships aren’t entirely positive. For instance, she has expressed contempt for one ex-boyfriend in particular – Eddie Cibrian, who was unbeknownst to her, already married when they started dating back in 2006 while Scheana worked as a waitress.

She expressed her frustration in a written message that Eddie hadn’t had the courage to have a closing conversation, following her discovery that he was married to Brandi Glanville with two children. However, she eventually moved past it and hasn’t encountered Eddie since then.

For more candid confessions from Scheana’s memoir, read on.

It’s quite appropriate that the then-21-year-old Scheana Shay crossed paths with 12 years her senior Eddie Cibrian while waitressing at a Los Angeles cigar bar, as a significant portion of their relationship seemed to be filled with illusion and deception.

In her 2025 memoir titled “My Good Side”, Scheana described the actor as someone who was “incredibly kind, hilarious, captivating, and a true gentleman”. However, she mentioned that even though he was married to Brandi Glanville and had two sons, he never wore a wedding ring. Assuming him to be single, she wrote that she didn’t realize his fame as she never took the time to look him up.

In late 2006, they didn’t have an exclusive relationship but had a regular weekly arrangement, which they referred to as a “weekly rendezvous.” Despite being told later by another club member that he was married, she refused to accept it. “I found it hard to believe,” she said, “because we were frequently seen together in public, and I didn’t feel like some clandestine lover!

Following her uncovering of the facts, she ended things with him temporarily, then resumed contact again six months down the line. According to her, he expressed deep regret and informed her that he had parted ways with Brandi.

In another instance, Eddie presented her with diamond earrings as a gift, admitted his feelings, and arranged a snowboarding excursion for her. She described this event as a significant leap in our relationship.

Later in March 2009, she discovered that her ex-partner, Eddie, was involved with LeAnn Rimes, which was widely publicized in magazines. She expressed her frustration by saying, “It really annoyed me that Eddie didn’t have the courage to end things properly between us.” However, she managed to move on and hasn’t had any contact with Eddie since then.

While dating Eddie, Scheana also developed a relationship with Jesse Metcalfe, the gardener from Desperate Housewives. She shared that they would often have dinner delivered to his house with his family, and when it was just the two of them, he would play the guitar and sing songs like ‘Hey There Delilah’ to her. It felt like she was living a dream come true, as she had been a fan of Jesse for years from watching him on TV and in films.

Apart from openly admitting it, she described her relationship with John Mayer as being “informally connected”. She chose to keep it secret because she enjoyed spending time with him. However, since their meetings weren’t exclusively private, one of her friends let slip the secret. As a result, “He stopped responding to me and avoided meeting me,” she shared in her writing. “He might have thought I was the one revealing the details of our outings.

As she’s talking nonstop, she mentioned some of the men she’s supposedly won over: Shemar Moore, Josh Hopkins, Shane West, Jesse McCartney, JC Chasez, Adrian Grenier, Ricardo Chavira, William Tell (apparently that’s a name), two actors from “The Notebook,” and several players from NFL, NBA, and MLB, to give just a few examples.

Back when Scheana’s future was still unwritten, she made an uncredited cameo on The Hills in 2009.

At the Hollywood club H.Wood, she was taken aback when her friend Stacie Adams was labeled a “homewrecker” after engaging in flirtatious behavior with Spencer Pratt. Meanwhile, she and another companion were subjected to derogatory terms like “prostitutes” and “sluts”.

However, Scheana pointed out, everything was fictitious as she narrated the incident where Heidi Montag, after wrapping up, arrived in a car beside her. “She was incredibly kind,” Scheana wrote, “contrasting sharply with the mean-spirited Heidi portrayed by MTV, who was manipulated and presented for public consumption.” She added, “Heidi said, ‘Hi everyone, I’m sorry I had to be rude to you all. It was just for the sake of the show, right?’

Yet it was Lisa Vanderpump who truly excelled in the art of reality TV, as evidenced by her decision to involve Scheana in the planning and filming of SUR’s grand opening event, which aired on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in January 2012.

Despite Lisa extending an invitation to Brandi from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, I hadn’t the slightest inkling that I was being led into a setup for a spin-off. In fact, I had no idea that this encounter would eventually portray me as a fool on national television, all masterfully orchestrated by Lisa to boost her own Vanderpump Rules series.

Lisa nudged Brandi towards Eddie, asking her to serve appetizers. Upon learning about Scheana’s relationship with Eddie, Lisa seemed surprised.

More recently, following the latest cast changes on VPR, Scheana had a conversation with a producer. “During our chat, they mentioned how the show began and stated, ‘Lisa was concerned that the Disney girl who had a link to Eddie might not participate,'” Scheana wrote. “In essence, they were discussing Lisa directly in front of me. This implied that Lisa knew about my affair with Eddie all along, something I’d long suspected. And it seemed she used this knowledge to kick-start VPR.

During those times, one might have expected them to be the happiest days of her life. However, less than two years into her marriage with high school friend Michael Shay, she found herself seeking a divorce on camera, disillusioned by his persistent Adderall abuse and emotional infidelities she claimed he had hidden from her.

And she admitted her feet began cooling even before she walked down the aisle in 2014.

She penned that on her wedding night, a tinge of concern began to surface within her as she questioned whether her newly-wed spouse might have an addiction issue, given his drinking habits. Despite her request for him to abstain from alcohol during their reception, she was relieved to observe he adhered to it.

At one of the rented casitas for their bridal party, she observed that his eyes seemed glassy and he was wobbly on his feet, which she later described in detail. Weeks passed before she understood the situation when castmate Tom Sandoval proposed they take these small blue pills, claiming they were Ecstasy.

Initially, she swiftly declined, and Shay, looking bewildered, expressed, “Hold on, that seems like the pill you provided me at the wedding. I assumed it was Adderall.” Both were taken aback. It turned out that Shay hadn’t planned to get intoxicated that evening; he just wanted an Adderall to stay awake longer. (TopMob News has contacted Tom and Michael’s representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.)

Even though Scheana had caused quite a stir during her initial seven seasons on Vanderpump Rules, it turned out that just before appearing on Watch What Happens Live, she was informed that her role would be reduced to “friend of” status.

Speaking candidly to host Andy Cohen, she recalled, “I was crying uncontrollably,” she said. “He gave me a compassionate gaze and remarked, ‘Actually, we’re nearly on air. I need you to pull yourself together, deliver an outstanding performance, and prove to everyone that you truly belong on this show.

Once more, she received the unwelcome call prior to season 10. This time, Scheana attributed her predicament to her romance with husband Brock Davies. She stated that his past, particularly an acknowledgment of having struck his ex-wife and a strained relationship with their children Eli and Winter, didn’t sit well with the audience.

According to Scheana, it was alright for him to join group activities, but they wouldn’t be providing him with specific call times.

In other words, she said, “It felt like a total f–k-you.”

According to Scheana’s perspective, the producers of Vanderpump Rules often deliberately showcased her less favorable aspects. This is supported by former editor Bri Dellinger’s admission that she intentionally sought out Scheana’s most awkward moments and compiled them. As evidence, Scheana stated, she had proof in hand.

At Stassi Schroeder’s engagement party, the most noticeable instance occurred when Scheana was asked to converse with Stassi’s 15-year-old brother, Nikolai Schroeder. This happened due to some unfortunate circumstances at the event.

In her own words, Scheana stated, “I was joking with him, just as I would with a younger sibling, without giving it much thought. The topics we discussed included school, sports, and his possible girlfriends. However, the last episode gave off an impression that I was flirting with Nikolai. This left me ; he was only fifteen years old.

At the 2019 Stagecoach Music Festival, Scheana encountered someone she referred to as “DD” and immediately felt a strong bond. They shared a common affection for Sam Hunt, which led them to spend more time together in Los Angeles. One evening at TomTom, they even shared a kiss.

Over the coming months, Scheana explained, it turned into an unusual situation where we’d drink together, kiss, and even lead others to believe we were in a relationship.

The circumstances had Scheana puzzled, questioning whether she might be attracted to women, feeling solitary and disenchanted with men, or just drawn to this particular lady.

Scheana confided that it seemed as though our connection went beyond friendship, yet it didn’t feel ready for a full-blown relationship. She expressed concern about how her traditional family and VPR viewers might perceive this situation. She added that sometimes, the dread of being rejected overshadowed the curiosity to know if DD shared similar feelings, but what we could become was intriguing to her.

Later on, in the same month of September, they encountered Brock at another music event. At first, he seemed interested in DD, but their characters simply didn’t resonate, as she put it. This allowed for a connection between him and Scheana to develop instead.

After their November trip to Australia and Bali, the couple was out with DD when Scheana playfully mentioned, “And, it felt just like old times when she kissed me,” she shared. However, Brock seemed upset by this gesture, saying, “You’re my girlfriend now. You don’t do things like that anymore. We had a history, and that chapter is closed unless you want me to leave.

In October 2020, Scheana announced that she was about to welcome a baby girl named Summer Moon Honey Davies with her partner Brock, following a miscarriage. Interestingly, they hadn’t been trying to conceive, but as Scheana humorously put it, “Brock could use some work on his reflexes.

Nine days prior to the start of season 9 filming, Scheana encountered a critical increase in her blood pressure during labor that occurred fifteen hours into the process, leaving her with grave concerns about potential complications.

In that moment, she penned down her struggle: she was greedily yearning for a baby to star in a television program, while the baby’s heart rate was decreasing.

Unaware that she was suffering from a serious form of preeclampsia known as HELLP syndrome, Scheana remarked, “It’s amazing how they managed to induce labor.” If I had not been induced and instead given birth naturally, the doctors might not have detected my preeclampsia in time. Consequently, I could have suffered a stroke and possibly died.

Sadly, Scheana’s concerns didn’t cease when Summer arrived looking weak and pale, a usual incident for moms receiving magnesium drips. Eventually, she was diagnosed with postpartum OCD. Scheana attributes therapy for helping her tackle issues such as her obsession with following exactly 420 people on Instagram or her apprehension about visiting Disneyland alone with Summer.

According to Scheana, she’s persistently working on various methods of exposure therapy as a means to conquer her inner struggles.

Celebrate a toast to the brilliance behind the thrilling climax of season nine! With all cast members convening in California’s Santa Ynez Valley for James Kennedy and Rachel Leviss’ engagement party, Scheana revealed that she and her partner, Brock, had secretly planned an elopement during their stay. As she had already experienced extravagant, televised weddings with Shay, what mattered most to her was marrying Brock.

Additionally, had plans for a 10th season. However, she ultimately decided against it out of respect for another bride-to-be, as everyone was under significant pressure to create an exciting finale, and our positions were potentially at risk if we failed to meet expectations. Scheana clarified this.

In a collaborative move, Lala Kent, Ariana Madix, and Katie Maloney concocted a scheme where Lala would inform James and Rachel that Scheana was attempting to hijack their special event.

Scheana commented, ‘This revelation will certainly cause a stir, hopefully ensuring more episodes next season.’ Mission accomplished on job security!”

Or simply:

“‘This development will create quite the commotion,’ said Scheana, ‘and I hope it means we’ll have another season to look forward to. My job’s secure!’

Following the incident, Scheana admitted that she returned to the hotel with Brock and Lala in the same vehicle. “After our argument, we ended up leaving the scene together peacefully in the car,” she explained.

Following a press event in March 2023, Rachel and Schena found themselves at a bar in New York City. As the evening progressed, Rachel exited accompanied by Ariana, who was speaking over Tom’s phone.

When Scheana enquired about the situation, Rachel appeared puzzled and admitted, “I’ve been involved with Tom Sandoval for seven months now. Ariana recently discovered this secret.

In anger, Scheana tossed Rachel’s phone into the street gutter. When Rachel tried to grab her arm, Scheana explained, “I pushed her away from me.” “She approached me once more,” Scheana added, “so I gave her a second push.

At the hotel, Scheana reportedly told Ariana, “I physically shoved Rachel and tossed her phone onto the street.” Ariana was listening with the speakerphone on, allowing Tom to hear from behind. It seems Tom misunderstood and thought I had punched Rachel. While there were many intense feelings that night, I want to clarify that I did not actually hit Rachel.

So, Scheana expressed her upsetness because she felt Rachel altered her story. As Rachel initially filed a police report in L.A., requested a temporary restraining order (which was later withdrawn), Scheana commented that this person was prepared to fabricate about Scheana, potentially harming her career and reputation, as well as facing severe legal consequences for submitting a false report, all for the sake of gaining leniency from the media. Meanwhile, Rachel clarified that the TRO was meant to offer a cool-down period after being assaulted, but she had no intention of continuing with a permanent one.

During the tenth season, the Scandoval drama took center stage; however, another intriguing story of infidelity unfolded nearby. According to Scheana, there were whispers about Brock being involved with Rachel. She explained, “He feared that something which was indeed true might be exposed, and it was wiser for me to hear it straight from him.

In the spring of 2023, Scheana discovered that Brock, who expressed fear about becoming a father once more, had been involved in a short-lived relationship with an old acquaintance, all while Scheana was expecting his child.

In a burst of uncontrolled fury, she admitted, “I lashed out, striking him and tossing a Rubik’s cube towards him, which he managed to avoid.” After that intense emotional outburst, however, Scheana focused on resolving the issues within their relationship.

If she had known the truth about Brock, she probably wouldn’t have gotten married. Her response would have been significantly different without Summer in the picture.

In essence, Scheana explained, when the situation became critical, she found herself facing a decision. The first option was to abandon Brock and our shared life, a choice that would mean sacrificing everything, causing irreparable damage to my family, and continuing to harbor the bitterness that was consuming me. Alternatively, she could choose forgiveness. This path would involve releasing the anger and resentment and moving on with her life.

It appears that despite Scheana’s hit single, “Good As Gold,” receiving frequent airplay on Vanderpump Rules and being used in an Uber Eats ad, she has yet to earn substantial income from it. In fact, she has only made money from vinyl sales. This is because early in her career, her manager arranged for his entertainment lawyer to handle her business affairs.

Reflecting on the situation now, I realize that perhaps it wasn’t a wise decision for us to have the same lawyer, but at the moment, I was unaware of any better choices. I put my trust in him when he asked me to sign those documents, believing them to be routine and standard.

She had written, “It seems one of the contracts transferred ownership of ‘Good As Gold’ to him. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to obtain copies of that agreement, nor have I managed to keep control over my work or receive our original contract over the years. Perhaps things might improve now.
