Just a reminder, SEGA together with RGG Studio is planning to reintroduce the classic game Virtua Fighter with a brand new installment.
Since the initial announcement, there hasn’t been much new information, however, the game recently showcased its first genuine sneak peek into gameplay during this year’s EVO fighting game competition.
Here’s the video:
In it, we see characters Akira and Stella going toe to toe in a training stage.
Although it may take some time until the game is fully launched, its focus on dynamic 3D movement, smooth animations, and an impactful final hit suggests a promising future for the game.

It’s all too brief, but it looks as though RGG Studio is on the right track.
Luckily, the video also verifies that we can expect new updates on Virtua Fighter during the Tokyo Game Show 2025, happening from September 25th to 28th.
