Usually, Game of Thrones shows are a big Sunday night event. However, this week’s episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is different. The new prequel series has already broken from the pattern established by Thrones and House of the Dragon in a few ways: it airs later, at 10 pm instead of 9, and each episode is significantly shorter – around 35 minutes compared to a full hour. This series feels distinct, with a lighter and more humorous style, and these changes extend beyond just the timing and length.
As a huge fan of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, I’m excited to share that the fourth episode of season one is dropping early on HBO Max this Friday, February 6th, at 12:01 am Pacific Time / 3:01 am Eastern. Just a heads-up, this early release is only for streaming. If you’re watching on regular HBO, it’ll still air on Sunday night as usual. The reason for the change? It’s all about the Super Bowl! With the big game happening on Sunday, HBO wants to make sure their shows don’t get lost in the shuffle. And good news for Industry fans too – the fifth episode of season four is also getting a Friday release on HBO Max at the same time as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
What To Expect From A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Episode 4
Episode 4 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to ramp up the tension after the shocking events of the previous episode. The latest installment revealed Egg’s true identity – he’s actually Aegon Targaryen, brother of Aerion and son of Maekar. This revelation happened right after Ser Duncan the Tall attacked Aerion, and episode 4 will delve into the consequences of both events.
The new HBO trailer shows Dunk imprisoned after attacking a Targaryen prince. He’ll face a trial by combat – a dangerous fight with seven opponents on each side. The trailer ends with Dunk urgently trying to recruit knights to fight alongside him, passionately asking if there are any honorable warriors present.
Okay, so the latest trailer definitely shows a change of pace. While there’s still humor, things are getting noticeably darker and more intense. It’s not just about Dunk and Egg pretending to be knights anymore – it feels like a real fight for their lives is coming. And with only six episodes this season, Episode 4 is going to be huge, setting everything up for the finale. You absolutely won’t want to miss it when it hits HBO Max on Friday, or HBO on Sunday night!
