A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Season 1’s IMDb Score Inflates Near Game Of Thrones Level Ahead Of Finale

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is truly becoming its own underdog story on IMDb.

The Game of Thrones prequel quickly gained popularity, captivating viewers with its compelling Targaryen storylines and the uplifting tale of a humble knight striving to prove his worth. The show initially introduced Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffley) and his young companion, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), but the tension really built when the knight intervened to protect a puppeteer from the ruthless Aerion Targaryen.

Viewers have been consistently impressed with the quality of the Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, with each new episode. The show’s IMDb score has recently jumped to a 9.0, making it higher-rated than House of the Dragon (8.3) and only slightly behind the original Game of Thrones (9.2).

When A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms first launched in late January, it received an 8.4 rating on IMDb. As viewers watched each episode, the show’s overall score steadily increased. While the initial episodes earned ratings in the 8 to 9 range, the most recent two episodes have received scores in the high 9s. Currently, “In the Name of the Mother” is the highest-rated episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, with a score of 9.6.

The new show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is gaining popularity and is being compared to Game of Thrones. However, this has led to some controversy, as fans have been lowering the rating of a classic Breaking Bad episode. “Ozymandias,” the 14th episode of season 5, was once considered perfect with a 10/10 score, but it’s now down to a 9.7 due to negative reviews.

The show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has also been affected by manipulated ratings, though a recent dip from 9.7 to 9.6 wasn’t drastic. Currently, the final, unaired episode has a rating of 8.0. It’s unknown whether IMDb will take steps to prevent this kind of review manipulation.

The upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off is inspired by George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg. The first season adapts the story from A Hedge Knight. Martin himself has praised the series, describing it as “just incredible” and a remarkably faithful adaptation.

Even though the first season is ending soon, HBO has ordered a second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It’s anticipated to be based on The Sworn Sword storyline. Filming is underway, but we don’t yet know when it will be released.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 finale airs on February 22 at 10 PM ET on HBO Max.
