inXile’s upcoming RPG, Clockwork Revolution, takes place in the steampunk city of Avalon and centers around the ability to control time. The game was unveiled at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, and its unique rewind feature quickly grabbed attention.

We got a more detailed look at character customization, skills, and weapons at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. The new video highlighted the wide range of character builds possible and showed how manipulating time will impact both how you explore the world and fight enemies.

Xbox is well-known for its role-playing games, and their upcoming title, The Outer Worlds 2, looks to be another fantastic addition. A recent online discovery might suggest the game will be released sooner than many players anticipate.

Who Nathan Long is and what his profile reveals about Clockwork Revolution

Nathan Long worked at inXile Entertainment for over ten years as a senior writer and narrative designer. He contributed to popular games like Wasteland 2, Wasteland 3, and Torment: Tides of Numenera.

He recently updated his LinkedIn profile to show he was working on Clockwork Revolution as a senior writer, narrative designer, lyricist, and voiceover director until October 2025.

His profile also lists Clockwork Revolution with a 2026 date, suggesting the game might come out that year. This makes sense considering it was featured again at the recent Xbox Games Showcase.

Dates listed on LinkedIn aren’t official proof of anything, but they can offer a useful clue, particularly if the information comes from someone familiar with the project’s schedule.

The game is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC through Steam and the Xbox App. Currently, there are no plans to release it on PlayStation 5.

The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
