It’s been a long time since a new Dead Rising game came out. The last installment, Dead Rising 4, launched on December 6, 2016, and fans have been waiting nine years for a new game ever since.
A fifth installment in the Dead Rising series was planned, but it was cancelled in 2018 when Capcom Vancouver closed down.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new installment in the Dead Rising series for a long time. Recent reports suggest that a new game may actually be in development, though details are currently under wraps.

MP1st reports that a new, large-scale Dead Rising project is reportedly being developed, according to a source they trust.
It’s not a remaster or a remake of some sort, but a completely new entry to the series.
Sources revealed some exciting news, especially that the popular main character, Frank West, is returning.
Capcom Might Be Working on a Dead Rising Sequel Starring Frank West
According to information from MP1st, the next Dead Rising game will take place in Hollywood. Development on the game began in 2023, and it will feature returning characters from earlier installments, allowing players to reconnect with them.
Frank West will be the main character, and he’ll be joined by several other characters throughout the game.
The game is set in Hollywood, primarily on a movie set. The main villain is a film director who intentionally put Frank and the other survivors in danger, believing he was creating the ultimate film.
If this is true, it coincides perfectly with the recent release of the Dead Rising remaster, which boasts enhanced graphics and several helpful improvements.

Capcom also announced last year, after revealing new Okami and Onimusha games, that they plan to revive some of their older, currently unused game series.
Although these details seem really interesting, it’s best to be cautious, as you should with any leaked or unofficial information.
Capcom hasn’t officially announced a new Dead Rising game yet. However, if rumors are true, fans would likely be very excited.
