A Real Housewife Says Ashley Tisdale Wasn’t Making Things Up With ‘Toxic Mom Group’ Post

It’s not uncommon for mothers of young children to experience disagreements, but the recent public fallout from Ashley Tisdale, star of High School Musical, is unusual. She shared that she had to leave a “toxic mom group,” and other celebrity mothers are also caught up in the situation. Now, a former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has come forward to support Tisdale’s story about the difficulties she faced within the group.

Which RHOBH Star Is Supporting Ashley Tisdale After She Spoke Out About Toxic Mom Group?

People often enjoy a bit of gossip as a way to distract themselves from their own problems, so when Ashley Tisdale shared her experiences in an article for The Cut about feeling excluded from a difficult group of mom friends, it quickly grabbed everyone’s attention. It became even more interesting because, even though Tisdale didn’t mention anyone specifically, internet users were able to easily figure out who she might be talking about as other celebrity moms started hinting at similar issues.

Mandy Moore, known for her role in This Is Us, and Hilary Duff, who starred in Lizzie McGuire, are also reportedly involved, along with Duff’s husband, Matthew Korma, her sister Haylie, and singer Meghan Trainor. Crystal Kung Minkoff, formerly of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has recently discussed the situation, stating she believes Ashley Tisdale’s account of events is accurate. Minkoff shared her thoughts on her podcast, Humble Brag, saying:

I recognize about 70% of the moms in the group – our kids were all in preschool together. I recently thought it was funny how quickly things become old news, and I shared a joke about that on Threads, saying something felt like it happened way back in 2021.

As a supporter, I was really struck by what Crystal Minkoff said. She pointed out that when she first joined RHOBH as the first Asian American cast member, she faced a lot of racist hate online. She explained that while she wasn’t in this specific group of moms, she knows exactly who Ashley Tisdale was talking about because their kids all go to the same preschool. She shared that she’s actually been in a similar situation during her time on the show, but her experience was different from Tisdale’s in a key way.

It’s interesting because Ashley’s version of events is that she chose to leave, while I stayed. I was on [Real Housewives], and as I explained in an entire episode, the others turned against me and essentially removed me from the show. It’s not a secret – I already talked about it.

Minkoff shared that she understood what the Phineas and Ferb star was going through – being left out of mom group activities – because she experienced the same thing before her own friends stopped including her. She also knew about issues within the celebrity mom group while she was still friends with them. She believes some of the problems stemmed from trying to combine different friend groups, but she ultimately sided with Tisdale.

It’s difficult to make sure everyone feels included, but if she felt excluded, I believe her perception was accurate. You generally know when you’re being forced out.

I have a feeling this situation with the mom isn’t over, and we’ll likely learn more details soon.
