February is usually associated with love and romance thanks to Valentine’s Day, and you can find plenty of romantic comedies to watch. However, if you’re a horror fan, Shudder is releasing a classic monster movie on their streaming service this month.
If you’re looking for something different, check out The Oily Maniac, a unique and unusual horror movie now streaming on Shudder as of February 1st. This 1976 film from Hong Kong is a bit of a cult classic, and while it might not be widely known, its interesting story and bizarre premise make it well worth a watch.

The Oily Maniac actually feels like a superhero flick, with the Maniac taking down all sorts of criminals – everything from shady plastic surgeons to pimps, and even his own corrupt boss. Honestly, it’s got a really surprising amount of adult content and violence, which sounds weird, but it totally works for the film’s vibe.
