Abby Lee Miller Reacts to JoJo Siwa’s Relationship With Chris Hughes

Abby Lee Miller knows JoJo Siwa is dancing on air.

Following their recent reunion on Dance Moms, Abby Lee Miller expressed great joy in discussing the latest developments in her former pupil’s relationship with Chris Hughes.

In an exclusive chat with TopMob News during Heather McDonald’s 10th anniversary Juicy Scoop celebration, Abby exclaimed, “She doesn’t just dip a toe; she cannonballs into everything, headfirst at times! Even when it’s not deep enough for diving, she still takes the plunge. I couldn’t be more excited for her!

After interacting with the newly formed pair, who became acquainted earlier this spring during the recent season of Celebrity Big Brother U.K., the dance instructor has no doubt that JoJo is smitten.

Wow, being with them brought back memories of having a crush on a few people before,” the 59-year-old shared, “and that’s exactly what it felt like. It was just adorable.

However, although Abby has recently socialized with a fellow cast member from Dance Moms, she’s not exactly eager to revisit the dance studio environment. In other words, if there were circumstances that might entice her to come back onto the show, it remains unclear at this point.

She jokingly referred to it as ‘a large agreement,’ but she emphasized that she needed more authority. For season nine of the show, she self-produced it, titled it ‘Abby Lee Dance With Me‘, and there were no tears from her – perhaps the children or parents shed some, but not her. Each day, she was content and enjoyed going to work. Therefore, it’s a far more positive atmosphere when you are in charge.

Although she’s aware they had a strong connection during their time on Big Brother, the dancer finds it challenging to identify precisely what initially attracted her to Chris.

 

She stated, ‘I’m completely clueless and fully familiar with everything.’ After Big Brother, there was no other option; it was all too evident. Our relationship is smooth sailing. We enjoy each other immensely. We understand one another exceptionally well. Our strengths complement each other wonderfully. We are incredibly patient with one another.

As she put it, “I couldn’t imagine my world without sweet Christopher boy.” 

Currently, JoJo’s experiencing the same high spirits as she has been ever since her relationship with Chris became official a few months ago.

Speaking with TopMob News recently, she expressed that she currently feels incredibly peaceful and filled with joy, without feeling the need to project any specific energy. Instead, she exudes positivity at this moment in time. She has never felt more organized and composed than she does now.

As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but share some behind-the-scenes details about the genesis of my unique bond with the charismatic 32-year-old Love Island alumnus, who just so happens to be 22 years my junior.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d put it this way: “It happened quite serendipitously,” I’d say, meaning it found me unexpectedly, at a time when I wasn’t actively seeking it.

Even though she acknowledges that she and Chris had a strong connection during their time in Big Brother, the dancer finds it challenging to identify precisely what initially attracted her to him.

She stated, ‘I’m completely clueless and everything at the same time.’ After the show Big Brother, there was no other option; it was perfectly obvious. Our relationship is fantastic. We enjoy each other immensely. We communicate effortlessly. We make a great team. We’re patient with one another.

As she put it, “I couldn’t imagine my world without sweet Christopher boy.”

17-year-old JoJo Siwa found August 1, 2020, to be an ideal day for disclosing the identity of her boyfriend, who outshone her admiration for Patrick Dempsey from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and Zac Efron.

He’s incredible, and I never thought someone could be any better,” the Dance Moms alum exclaimed to Jessalynn Siwa, the musician’s mother.

But by that November, the pair were no longer in harmony. 

Siwa expressed on Instagram that Mark shouldn’t receive cruel remarks. She believes he deserves encouragement instead. You don’t know the joy, fun, or happiness that Mark and I shared in our relationship. We mutually agreed it’s best for us not to be together anymore, and that’s the whole story.

Initially, their relationship began as a friendship when Siwa met Kylie Prew on a cruise in 2020. However, it transformed into something more significant around a year later, as expressed by the reality star on Instagram in February 2021: “I was fortunate enough to refer to this extraordinary individual as my girlfriend.

Siwa acknowledged that her inspiring, exceptional, flawless, most beautiful girlfriend in the world played a significant role in helping her reveal her true self. Already having created content alongside Pride House, a group of LGBTQ+ TikTok creators, and a TikTok video showcasing a dance to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” anthem, the reality TV personality was hesitant about posting a picture of her new “Best Queer Cousin Forever” shirt.

According to Siwa, she said something like, “I thought about sharing this picture on my Reels story,” and her friend was very supportive. Her friend essentially told her to go ahead, so she agreed and posted the picture.

Despite living together (“Looking back, we all thought, ‘That was a mistake,’ as Siwa confessed on the Call Her Daddy podcast in April 2024), they separated in October of the same year, briefly coming back together for one last dance in 2022.

As a devoted confidant, I shared with Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy that Prew remains my cherished friend. We keep in regular contact, conversing frequently.

On a March 2022 episode of the Rachel Uncensored Podcast, Siwa expressed that she is not single and prefers not to socialize romantically with others, stating, “I am a faithful woman.

She’d played the field, she continued, and snagged herself a catch in Katie Mills. 

Here’s something, I circled the neighborhood, you know,” Siwa playfully mentioned. “I put in a lot of effort, learned a great deal, and I’m absolutely thrilled with my current situation.

But safe to say her romance with the TikToker wasn’t all fun and games. 

In response to Siwa’s March 2023 video criticizing “love bombing” and “chasing clout” by unidentified former partners, Mills retaliated with some accusations of her own.

In her TikTok video that month, she expressed her frustration by saying, “I’ve had enough of being silent.” She went on to question the inconsistency of someone expressing love one day and then disappearing, only to post derogatory comments about them as clout-chasers and love bombers online. She couldn’t understand this behavior.

Moreover, it was Siwa who first revealed their relationship publicly, whereas Mills sought approval before sharing any insights into their romance. Furthermore, Mills emphasized, “I have the messages as proof, so beware if you try to question this.

It’s clear that, despite Avery Cyrus and Siwa’s brief romance in 2022, she hasn’t yet reached the pinnacle of her personal or professional life, so to speak.

It seems that even though Avery Cyrus was briefly linked with Siwa in 2022, she hasn’t yet solidified her position at the top echelon of her world.

During their 12-day anniversary, the singer expressed that living together was like a beautiful dream. Speaking with TopMob News in October, Siwa shared, “Our personalities complement each other incredibly, and I think this is truly special. She radiates positivity; she lifts me up. In return, I believe I bring the same happiness to her.

However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically in December. Just two days following Cyrus’s confirmation that they had broken up, Siwa subtly hinted at someone who exploited her celebrity status.

In a December 2022 video her mother posted on her Instagram Story, she complained, “I was taken advantage of for popularity and influence.” She continued, “I thought I was loved, but instead, I was manipulated.

For Cyrus, though, their dalliance wasn’t a game. 

According to her exclusive statement to TopMob News, she maintains that she and JoJo parted ways amicably and remain friends. She emphasized that their connection was genuine, and she holds only affectionate feelings towards JoJo and her loved ones.

As an utterly smitten admirer, I can’t help but express my fervor for Dakayla Wilson. Although she might have come in second during season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance, she was undeniably the first in Judge Siwa’s heart. In a heartwarming TikTok post from August, the radiant “Karma” singer, who is none other than JoJo Siwa, revealed her transformation into Dakayla’s All Star Assistant for the weekend. Her enthusiasm was palpable as she exclaimed, “I took a break from being JoJo Siwa to become Dakayla Wilson’s All Star!

For a number of months, Wilson turned out to be an ideal dance companion. Siwa announced that the teenager was fully supportive of her idea to welcome triplets soon, and she happily splurged $30,000 on her 19th birthday bash in Hawaii.

The ex-Nickelodeon celebrity expressed intense affection to TopMob News, stating she’s incredibly unique and he feels extremely fortunate to have her as part of his life.

But it turned out that Wilson wasn’t all Siwa wanted for Christmas. 

In a conversation with People magazine in November 2024, Siwa expressed, “Though we’ve chosen different paths, she is an extraordinary individual. Meanwhile, I have my own exciting holiday activities lined up, and I understand she spends her holidays with her beloved family.

In January 2025, Siwa openly acknowledged her romantic relationship with Kath Ebbs, referring to the Australian content producer as her “partner” or “significant other.

In response, Ebbs reciprocated affectionately by sharing pictures of them both kissing during the same month. On Instagram, they expressed, “A dash of LGBTQ+ happiness for your feed today!!!

Three months after that, at the wrap-up party for Celebrity Big Brother UK, Ebbs announced their decision to part ways.

In a TikTok post from April 2025, Ebbs shared that there seemed to be mixed emotions present, and he had come to understand that he was not the one they desired to share their future with, as they discovered within their home.

Even though I shared a strong bond with Chris Hughes, my dear housemate, I firmly believed that our circumstances weren’t interchangeable, as I emphasized to Siwa.

During filming, Siwa found herself isolated, far from friends, free of outside judgments, and detached from everything else. In this solitude, she spent time introspectively, and it was then that she recognized aspects of her life she should not have tolerated initially.

Though Siwa didn’t finish first on Celebrity Big Brother UK during her time there in the spring of 2025, she gained something more valuable: Chris Hughes as a new partner, whom she had met while filming the show.

She enthusiastically shared with Keltie Knight from TopMob News at the launch of Universal’s Epic Universe on May 21st that Christopher is her preferred topic for conversation. “I should not refer to him as a thing – he is actually my favorite individual to discuss,” she added.

And, yet, she kept reiterating, they were just friends. Until they weren’t. 

Siwa confessed to The Guardian in a June 2025 interview that things between us are no longer just platonic,” she admitted, “It’s been an amazing evolution, a profound connection, and I must say, I’m completely smitten by him, and he feels the same way.

Regarding how she labels her sexuality, she finds that “queer” is the term that most accurately represents her identity. However, she prefers to focus on loving people rather than being defined by specific labels.

Siwa pointed out that there are many distinct sexual identities. To her, there’s no greater beauty than someone discovering and embracing who they truly are.
