The Absolute Universe series has become incredibly popular with comic book fans, and Absolute Batman has been its most successful title by far. Because of this success, we’re seeing Absolute Batman appear more often in ongoing stories and as a collectible item. Now, fans can look forward to Absolute Batman making his first appearance in a video game, alongside Absolute Catwoman.
The popular character Absolute Batman is joining the new LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game. The game will tell Batman’s complete story, from his beginnings to the present day, featuring iconic moments from his history. LEGO has also revealed that Absolute Catwoman will be a playable character, and has shared new gameplay footage showing both characters in action. You can watch the footage below.

Are There More Absolute Batman Characters In Legacy of the Dark Knight?

It’s amazing the team managed to include Absolute Batman and Catwoman in the game, especially since the comic series is still fairly new – only at issue #19. They’ve clearly put a lot of effort into the details, faithfully recreating the characters’ unique costumes, designs, and weapons in the game.
Absolute Batman features armored spikes and a large Bat-Axe symbol, while Catwoman is recognizable by her helmet and segmented tail. Players will also build items and drive vehicles. This leads to the big question: will more characters with the Absolute Batman look be added to the game when it launches?
Absolute Catwoman wasn’t originally included in the game, but her addition suggests other characters from the series might be added too. Several villains like Pennyworth, Black Mask, Mr. Freeze, and Bane were introduced early on, making their appearance in the game a possibility.
It’s possible we’ll see downloadable content (DLC) similar to past LEGO Batman games, like a character pack. Recent LEGO Batman comics have introduced characters such as Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, the Joker, Deathstroke, and the Robins, providing plenty of options for a potential DLC. We’ll have to wait and see if that happens, though.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight releases on May 22, 2026.
