In simpler terms, Jack Thorne, the writer, expressed regret for not having spent more time developing a specific character in his acclaimed series ‘Adolescence‘.
The show left people worldwide stunned as it delved into the story of 13-year-old Jamie (Owen Cooper), who was taken into custody following accusations that he had killed Katie, a classmate at his school.
At Edinburgh TV Festival, during a panel discussion, Thorne was questioned about whether he might create an episode dedicated to portraying the effects on Katie’s family.
In response, he stated, “Indeed, we’ve discussed it extensively, and we collectively came to the realization that such a change would alter its nature.
Thorne mentioned that the purpose of the show was to narrate a tale from a specific perspective, but be cautious not to weaken the essence we’ve already established.
Instead, he noted that if given another chance, he would have spent a bit more time with Jade.

In simple terms, Fatima Bojang portrays Katie’s deeply affected best friend, Jade, who grapples with the recent events as she goes back to school.
Thorne also recently opened up about the prospect of the series continuing in some way.
Perhaps we’ll try a one-time performance again sometime, as long as we can figure out how to best tell that particular story.
He clarified that the Miller story, as already narrated in Adolescence, stands alone and doesn’t suggest any plans for a spin-off. In other words, they don’t intend to create a separate story or series based on it.
We enjoy collaborating on more tales and find this setup appealing. We’ve gained valuable insights as creators using this platform, and we’re eager to explore its potential further if possible.
