I’m so excited! Adventure Time is officially coming back this summer with a new series on both Hulu and Disney+! The first trailer for Adventure Time: Side Quests just dropped, and it gives us a sneak peek at the show’s fresh new style. It’s been awesome seeing so many classic Cartoon Network shows return lately, and it’s been really interesting how each one is being reimagined for different streaming platforms. This is a fantastic surprise, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with it in just a few weeks!
Get ready for more adventures with Finn and Jake! Adventure Time: Side Quests is a new series in the Adventure Time universe, taking the heroes back to the beginning of their journey. This series shows all the fun they had before growing up and going their separate ways. It also has a new visual style, and you can watch the trailer below!
When Does Adventure Time: Side Quests Come Out?
The new series, Adventure Time: Side Quests, will premiere in the US on Hulu and Disney+ on June 29th. International viewers can watch it starting October 5th on Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Described as a companion to the original Adventure Time, it’s designed to appeal to both new and longtime fans. The show aims to recapture the fun, quirky spirit of the earlier seasons, before the more complex storylines took center stage.
I’m so excited for the new Adventure Time series! It’s going to feel a lot like the original, especially because so many of the original voice actors are back. John DiMaggio is still Jake, and we’ll hear Tom Kenny as Ice King, Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum, Olivia Olsen as Marceline, and Niki Yang as BMO again! The biggest change is that Sasha Knight is taking over as Finn the Human – Jeremy Shada originally voiced him, but I’m still really looking forward to hearing Sasha’s take on the character. Even though the animation style is different, having so many familiar voices is a huge win!
What Even Is Adventure Time: Side Quests?

Nate Cash, who leads the creative side and production of Adventure Time: Side Quests, described the new series as feeling very similar to the original Adventure Time. He said it was like collaborating with close friends on a professional project – a really exciting and fulfilling experience! He’s confident fans will enjoy these fresh adventures with Finn and Jake.
The new series will have a creative team including Darrick Bachman as story editor, Victor Courtright and Niki Yang directing, Nick Cross as art director, and Matthew Janszen composing the music. The team combines people who worked on the original series with new talent, aiming to recapture the feel of the earlier seasons rather than reinvent it. This approach should make for a compelling viewing experience when the series is released later this month.
