After running for 11 years, and even lasting through changes at its publisher, the manga Black Clover has finished its run. Several popular manga series have ended recently, with My Hero Academia kicking off this trend in September 2024, followed by Jujutsu Kaisen. 2026 has seen an even bigger wave of endings, with three major series concluding in just the first four months. Modulo ended in early March, which wasn’t a huge surprise as it was planned to be a shorter series. The most shocking conclusion, however, was Chainsaw Man, and fans are still reacting to it.
As a huge manga fan, I’m honestly a little shocked by how things have played out recently! It’s wild to me that Chainsaw Man actually finished before Black Clover, considering how long it felt like Black Clover was building towards its ending. And it’s not just those two – another big series is wrapping up too! I’ve been following Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days – it’s such a cool series with really grounded action and a focus on assassins – and it was announced back in July 2025 that we were heading into the final battle. Since then, things have been moving fast, and it seriously feels like we’re right on the edge of the very end now!
Weekly Shonen Jump’s Most Underrated Battle Action Manga Is Next in Line To End

Sakamoto Days is a refreshing take on the classic shonen manga, breaking many of the typical genre conventions. It blends realistic action with exciting, over-the-top moments, making it a standout battle manga that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. Despite this, it consistently ranks high in Weekly Shonen Jump, usually second only to the incredibly popular One Piece. The story, which focuses on assassins, has reached its peak as Slur and his followers create widespread chaos within the Japanese government. Now, Sakamoto, Shin, and their friends – including popular characters from the Order like Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi – are united to fight a full-scale war against Slur’s forces.
The biggest conflicts are largely finished, following the typical story pattern of good triumphing over evil, with just a few fights left to go. Sakamoto is awake and on his way to face the main villain. Everything is almost set for the final battle, and the recent chapter may have explained how Sabo and Mafuyu will defeat the mysterious siblings helping Slur. Now, only a handful of fights stand between Sakamoto and Slur (also known as Uzuki) before their showdown ends. It’s becoming clear that Sakamoto Days is nearing its conclusion, possibly within the next four or five months.
Sakamoto Days has become a standout shonen series in recent years, and its strong manga sales show it surpassed even Black Clover in popularity within Weekly Shonen Jump. In an industry where many manga don’t last beyond 200 chapters, Sakamoto Days’ consistent run of over five years proves it’s a leading title. Its conclusion will undoubtedly leave a significant gap in the magazine’s lineup.
