Alex Warren’s 2026 Grammys performance was a little out of the ordinary.
The artist nominated for Best New Artist performed his song “Ordinary” for the first time at the awards ceremony on February 1st at the Crypto.com Arena, though the performance wasn’t without a few technical issues.
After his Grammy performance, Alex posted a TikTok video explaining what he hears in his earpiece. The video featured a layered version of his song and the caption, “This is what I hear when I’m performing at the Grammys!”
Alex captioned his Feb. 1 video, “This would only happen to me…”
Alex performed on stage with the other nominees for Best New Artist, including Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, The Marias, KATSEYE, Lola Young, Sombr, and the winner, Olivia Dean. While walking to the stage and beginning his performance, he briefly fell out of sync with the music. During the performance, the 25-year-old had to adjust his microphone and also his earpiece.
Alex received a lot of supportive comments on his TikTok, including praise from well-known personalities like Trisha Paytas, who wrote, “You actually crushed it tho!!!!!!” One fan also commented, “It was just a technical issue, and you handled it really well – don’t be so hard on yourself.”
Alex received the most support from his wife, Kouvr Annon, who was clearly very proud and excited for him on his big night.

Kouvr shared a photo from her wedding with Alex on Instagram, expressing how proud and honored she is to be his wife. She wrote that watching him grow up and become the musician she always believed in him to be has been a privilege, and that he inspires her to be her best self every day.
She finished by saying, “Thank you for being yourself. I love you more than words can say, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you. And if our children ever come across this, please know their father is amazing.”
Alex had previously expressed his excitement about celebrating with the other Best New Artist nominees before the awards ceremony.
During the Live From TopMob Stream: Spotify Best New Artist Party 2026 on January 29th, Alex shared that they tried to FaceTime all of the Best New Artists. “I got a few of them,” Alex said, adding, “I had an amazing conversation with sombr and Addison.”
James Blunt, known for his song “Carry You Home,” is naturally friendly and values staying connected with the people around him.
Alex explained that they’re very outgoing and enjoy the diversity in art. They pointed out that the most exciting new artists all have unique styles, and that’s what they appreciate most.
He added, “And I know I was s–tting myself so I wanted to make sure everyone else was good.”
