As a horror fan, I’m thrilled to report some exciting news about
AMC’s Mayfair Witches centers around Rowan Fielding, a talented neurosurgeon, who learns she comes from a long line of powerful witches. She discovers this while investigating a haunting in New Orleans and realizing she has dangerous psychic abilities. Rowan must then face a malevolent spirit named Lasher as she comes to terms with her heritage.
Thomas Schnauz, the showrunner for Mayfair Witches, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that filming for Season 3 has finished. He shared a photo and mentioned his son helped with the production, though he’s too young to watch the show. Schnauz praised the cast and crew, and said updates about the air date on AMC and AMC+ are coming soon. While there’s no official release date yet, Season 3 is currently expected to premiere in late 2026.
The horror series is adding several new faces for its third season. Michiel Huisman, known for Game of Thrones, will play Michael, a carpenter with a mysterious past that’s revealed as he develops feelings for Rowan. Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad), James Frain (Gotham), and Eliza Scanlen (The Dope Girls) are also joining the cast, though details about their roles are currently limited.
Dan McDermott, head of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks, announced that Mayfair Witches will be back for another season. He explained that the compelling drama and intricate relationships within the Mayfair family will continue to drive the story, and setting it against the historical backdrop of Salem—famous for its history of witchcraft—offers a thrilling new direction for the show and the broader Anne Rice Immortal Universe.
I’m really excited for the third season of Mayfair Witches! It seems like they’re diving deep into the origins of witchcraft, particularly the history of Salem and the infamous witch trials. We’re also going to meet some fascinating families who are connected to the magical world, which I can’t wait to learn more about.
