Alien: Isolation 2 is Developed on Unreal Engine 5, per Recent Job Listing

Today, we got our first glimpse of the sequel to Alien: Isolation from Creative Assembly. While we don’t know much yet, it confirms the game is still in development. The studio also advertised openings for a Senior Development Manager and a Game Design Director, suggesting active progress.

The developers shared some new information about their upcoming sci-fi survival horror game. This time, they’re building it using Unreal Engine 5, a change from the custom engine they used for their previous game. They’re also looking for a Game Design Director to help plan the game’s development over several years, creating a detailed schedule for releases and updates.

This suggests Creative Assembly is increasing development efforts, which is positive news. However, the project is expected to take multiple years, so it may be some time before it’s released. This isn’t unexpected, as development began last year and we haven’t seen any gameplay or even learned the game’s official name yet.

Look, I’m a patient gamer, but seriously, a sequel to Alien: Isolation has been a long time coming! I’m really hoping all this waiting means they’re making something truly special. I’ll keep you updated as I learn more, but if you haven’t played the first one, I highly recommend it. We gave it a great review – the atmosphere was incredible, and the Xenomorph’s AI was genuinely terrifying. Definitely worth checking out!
