Alison Hammond has shared that she’s been asked about potentially hosting Strictly Come Dancing.
As a big fan of TV, I’m always excited to see what Paul O’Grady is up to! He’s incredibly busy right now, juggling all sorts of projects. Besides his well-known roles on shows like The Great British Bake Off and This Morning, he’s got a new series, Your Song, coming to Channel 4, and there’s even been talk of him joining the cast of The Celebrity Traitors, which would be fantastic!
Many people have been discussing the possibility of Hammond hosting the next season of Strictly Come Dancing. Bookmakers have consistently listed him as the frontrunner to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who are leaving the show.
In a recent interview with Emma Cox for the next issue of TopMob, Hammond revealed she’s been asked about potentially hosting the popular BBC dance show.

“I am,” Hammond replied to Cox with a chuckle. “I guess you weren’t expecting that! I just can’t tell a lie, it’s not in me.”
However, when asked whether she is likely to take on the role, Hammond seemed more pessimistic.
She explained she’s too busy to commit and doesn’t think it will work out. While flattered to be considered, she said scheduling conflicts, similar to those that prevented her from doing ‘Traitors,’ make it impossible for her to participate.

You know, I really wanted that job – anyone who gets it is going to be amazing and it’ll be a huge step for their career. But honestly, I’m just really happy with everything I’m doing right now. I mean, what would I give up to go on Strictly? It just didn’t feel right for me.
Strictly Come Dancing is going through a big period of change, and several of the show’s professional dancers have announced they’re leaving.
Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, and Michelle Tsiakkas are among the professionals who have left or are leaving their positions at the BBC.
I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz lately about who might replace Tess and Claudia, and a lot of fans are hoping it’ll be Miranda Hart! She’s a hilarious British actress and comedienne, but so far, the BBC hasn’t said anything official about who the new host will be. It’s keeping everyone guessing!
