The second season of *Dandadan* finished on September 18, 2025, after 12 episodes. It continued the story’s mix of ghosts, aliens, and romance, and the animation studio Science Saru did a fantastic job bringing the manga to life with exciting action, great visuals, and fun nods to popular culture. Fans were captivated throughout the season.
The second season of *Dandadan* takes everything that made the first season great – thrilling action and sweet romance – and turns it up a notch. We follow Takakura Ken (Okarun) and Momo Ayase on their wild and strange journey to find Okarunâs missing⊠well, you know. Every episode was good, but some were truly exceptional. Hereâs a ranking of all 12 episodes, based on a variety of factors.
12) Season 2 Episode 1, âLike, This is the Legend of the Giant Snakeâ

The first season of *Dandadan* ended somewhat suddenly, and the start of Season 2 feels similar. The new season immediately introduces a new story arc focusing on Momo, Okarun, and Jiji. The episode quickly throws Momo into danger with the people living in the mountains, but thankfully, Turbo Granny shows up to assist just when she needs it.
Jin and Okarun quickly become involved in a significant new threat. Viewers returning after six months might be confused by the sudden start, as a quick reminder of what happened previously would have been helpful. This lack of setup makes the episode feel weaker than others this season.
11) Season 2 Episode 9, âI Want to Rebuild the Houseâ

This episode is a relaxed and heartwarming one, centered around the rebuilding of Momo and Seikoâs house. Many people come together to help them repair the damage caused by the Evil Eye, and Chiquitita contributes significantly by using advanced alien technology – nanoskin – to speed up the process.
The biggest issue with this episode is the disappointing fight everyone was looking forward to. After Okarunâs training, viewers hoped for a more intense battle with Evil Eye, but it ended very quickly. This was a missed chance to really deliver on expectations, and itâs the main reason the episode feels underwhelming.
10) Season 2 Episode 5, âWe Can All Stay Togetherâ

After the intense ‘Evil Eye’ storyline, this episode offers a calmer pace, focusing on the main characters moving in with Momo and Jin to help manage the aftermath of the conflict. Though it doesn’t have any major plot points, it’s a crucial episode that shows the group working together and solidifying their relationships.
This episode includes a heartwarming scene of Momo and Okarun holding hands, adding a bit of romance. It’s generally more relaxed, focusing on simple, everyday happenings, which provides a welcome break after the previous episode’s intense and dramatic events.
9) Season 2 Episode 8, âYou Can Do It, Okarunâ

Determined to improve his abilities, Okarun is brought to a special nighttime school by Turbo Granny. There, he and Akira must battle the ghosts of famous musicians, but this fight is mostly a training exercise for Okarun.
This episode features a visually striking black-and-white style and follows a traditional shonen anime training sequence where Akira and Okarun battle ghostly enemies. Though it’s not the most memorable episode of the season, the creative design of the opponents makes it worthwhile.
8) Season 2 Episode 3, âYou Wonât Get Away With Thisâ

Following the frightening arrival of Evil Eye, viewers were curious about how Momo and Okarun would manage to defeat this new enemy, especially with the ever-present threat of the Giant Snake. Okarun rises to the occasion, proving himself as the main character by combining his strong will with his intelligent and detail-oriented approach when facing Evil Eye.
I watched as Okarun switched up his strategy this time. After going all-out before, he decided to be more measured. Instead of throwing everything he had into one attack, he delivered a hundred punches, each with just one percent of his total power. It was a really cool sequence, and it instantly reminded me of Deku from *My Hero Academia* learning to control his quirk – starting with smaller bursts of power instead of trying to use everything at once.
7) Season 2 Episode 11, âHey, Itâs a Kaijuâ

The second-to-last episode of *Dandadan* Season 2 is packed with action. Picking up where the previous episode left off, it reveals that a giant monster, a Kaiju, is determined to destroy everything. Momo, Okarun, and Akira team up to fight it, but the Kaiju’s ability to become invisible gives it a significant advantage.
With the giant monster proving too powerful for the heroes, all eyes turn to Kinta Sakata. He quickly transforms Momoâs house into a huge, battle-ready robot using advanced nanoskin technology. This fast-paced and intense episode delivers exactly what fans expect, making it a standout and deserving of its high ranking.
6) Season 2 Episode 2, âThe Evil Eyeâ

The latest episode finally revealed the Evil Eye yokai, a creature fans have been hoping to see since the first season hinted at its existence. The excitement surrounding its arrival was comparable to the anticipation for Kinta Sakata, but viewers were even more surprised by how powerful and unique the Evil Eye turned out to be.
This episode really confirms why Jin is a key character, highlighting his incredible spiritual power and physical abilities. Luckily, Evil Eyeâs innocent side keeps it from being totally destructive, proving itâs not simply a force of evil. Overall, this episode is strong because it clearly establishes both Jin and Evil Eye as important parts of the story.
5) Season 2 Episode 10, âThe Secret Art of Being Attractiveâ

This episode focuses on the developing relationship between Okarun and Momo, and introduces Kinta Sakata, a highly anticipated new character. It revisits the scene where Momo and Okarun search for each other at school without connecting, but this time with brief appearances by Kinta that add a new perspective.
The episode is particularly funny thanks to Kintaâs hilariously awkward attempts at flirting. But it really stands out because of its surprising ending – the sudden appearance of a Kaiju, a monster no one saw coming!
4) Season 2 Episode 7, âFeeling Kinda Gloomyâ

This episode is a standout, providing a welcome break from the usual craziness and highlighting what *Dandadan* does best: its romantic story. Momo gets a job to help her grandmother and fix up their house, and Okarun comes to visit her there, creating a heartwarming and charming moment that fans have been wanting to see.
And that’s not the end of the story! Okarun is determined to get stronger, so he sneaks back to school at night with Turbo Granny and Akira. There, they run into a funny group of enemies who are surprisingly musical – some of the most unique Okarun has ever battled.
3) Season 2 Episode 12, âClash! Space Kaiju Vs. Giant Robotâ

Everyone was excited to see Kinta Sakata appear this season, especially after hints that he’d be incredibly strange. This episode proves he’s a truly unique character. He pilots a giant robot version of Momo’s house, creating amazing new action sequences as he teams up with Momo and Akira to defeat the Kaiju.
Even though Kinta piloting the giant robot shaped like Buddha is fantastic and makes this episode a standout, the real surprise comes at the very end. A new, mysterious girl appears after the Kaiju is defeated and unexpectedly kisses Okarun, creating a huge twist. This cliffhanger makes fans eager for Season 3 of *Dandadan*, but thankfully, itâs already confirmed to be in production.
2) Season 2 Episode 6, âWe Became a Familyâ

Honestly, this episode is a standout for one major reason: the incredible surprise of seeing the band Hayashi show up to lift the Evil Eye curse from Jin! No one, and I mean *no one*, saw that coming. It’s amazing because the manga version of this scene is only a few pages long, but the episode really expands on it and makes it something truly special.
Science Saru really makes this scene shine, cleverly referencing *Back to the Future* and adding two original rock songs that are sure to get viewers energized. If it weren’t for what happens in the next episode, this would have easily been the best of *Dandadan* Season 2.
1) Season 2 Episode 4, âThatâs, Like, Way Deadlyâ

Episode four of *Dandadan*’s second season is arguably the best episode of the series so far. It powerfully concludes the Evil Eye arc, reaching a high point that will be hard to top. The episode brings together almost all of Okarun and Momoâs allies from the first season to defeat Evil Eye, with Aira being the only one not involved.
This episode is full of amazing surprises, culminating in the unexpected bravery of Taro, the anatomical model, who manages to trap Evil Eye inside himself. With almost all the main characters playing a part, it feels like a proper season finale – many viewers might even think the story should have ended here, instead of the earlier, somewhat rushed conclusion.
