The Academy Award-winning actress-mother to Bella Kidman Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, with her former husband Tom Cruise, and to Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 17, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 14, with her soon-to-be ex-husband Keith Urban-has consistently supported her children’s pursuits, most recently seeing her daughter Sunday begin a career in modeling.

“I told her, ‘You can do this!’” Nicole shared with TopMob News last October. “I’m trying to respect her need for independence and avoid being overbearing or controlling.”

It was clear Sunday had a passion for the arts well before she started modeling. Years ago, Nicole shared that her daughter had developed an early interest in acting.

She shared with TopMob News in January 2017, “My daughter recently landed a role in the school play, and helping her learn her lines has been my biggest focus.”

Sunday isn’t the only one in the family taking after Nicole. Both she and Faith showed off their acting talents with a combined appearance in one of their mother’s most famous works.

Oh my gosh, you will not believe this! I was watching The Ellen DeGeneres Show from 2018 – I’ve seen it a million times, obviously – and Nicole Kidman let slip something amazing. She said that my babies – her kids, Sunday and Faith – were actually extras in Big Little Lies! She said she’d never told anyone before, and I almost fainted! I’ve rewatched every scene a thousand times since, trying to spot them. It’s just… everything!

Additionally, Nicole has been supporting her daughters through this challenging time for their family. TopMob News reported on September 29th that Keith and Nicole have been separated for several months. Keith moved out of their shared home and established his own residence in Nashville earlier in the year.

Nicole’s older children have generally stayed out of the public view since her parents divorced in 2001. Although Bella and Connor sometimes share updates about their lives on social media, they are rarely pictured with their mother-and she has consistently honored their desire for privacy and to avoid attention.

“I generally keep those things to myself,” Nicole explained in a 2018 conversation with Who magazine in Australia. “It’s important for me to safeguard those connections.”

Nicole is very protective of her children, Bella and Connor, and their choice to follow Scientology, a practice their father has consistently followed for many years.

“They’re capable of making up their own minds,” the actress explained. “They actively chose to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it’s my role to support and love them.”

And the feeling appears to be mutual.

“I love my mum,” Connor shared with Woman’s Day in 2014. “No matter what others think, I know my mum and I have a strong bond. I love her very much.”
