For those who love collecting, there are always plenty of auctions happening, whether you’re building an existing collection or starting a new one. We share some of the biggest auctions each week, and in addition to the ongoing Death of Superman and Disney auctions, we want to highlight some other great options, including auctions featuring Amazing Spider-Man, G.I. Joe, Pokémon, and other collectibles.
For comic book fans who collected in the 90s, the Marvel Masterpieces trading cards are iconic. A nearly complete 1992 set of SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces is currently up for auction, and amazingly, every card has received a perfect PSA Gem Mint 10 grade. It’s only missing the #100 Checklist card—not even a character card! The vibrant artwork by Joe Jusko really makes these cards stand out, and the set even includes Darkhawk. With a current bid of $5,500, this is a great collectible to consider, as the auction ends in 6 days.

Pokémon And G.I. Joe Fans Are In Luck

Let’s look at Pokémon trading cards. This auction features a complete Legendary Collection Master Set, including the 100-card base set, the 110-card reverse holo set, and 4 special box topper cards. PSA has professionally graded 40 of the cards, with the Reverse Holo Dark Blastoise, Reverse Holo Dark Dragonite, and Charizard all receiving a near mint grade of 8 out of 10. Bidding is currently at $1,350, and the auction has 27 days remaining.

Next up is a classic toy: Serpentor, a famous villain from G.I. Joe! This auction features Serpentor with his Air Chariot, and it’s in excellent condition, earning an AFA grade of 80 (near mint). Only one other version has been graded higher. The set includes the 3-inch Serpentor figure and his vehicle, though the included weapons don’t fire. The current bid is $800, and the auction continues for another 9 days.
Two Marvel and DC First Appearances Are Up For Grabs

This week features some exciting first appearances from both Marvel and DC, and we’ll start with DC. A copy of Action Comics #23 is up for auction – it’s the first appearance of Superman’s famous enemy, Lex Luthor. This copy isn’t in perfect condition, with a grade of only .5 and some damage like a missing back cover and tape marks. However, these older comics are increasingly rare, and the current bid of $3,300 – with 13 days remaining – shows that. If you’re looking to own a piece of comic book history, this could be a great opportunity, despite its imperfections.
A copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #1 is currently being auctioned by Marvel. It’s in relatively good condition, graded at 3.0, and features the first appearances of J. Jonah Jameson and The Chameleon, as well as Spider-Man’s second appearance. While the cover has some wear and tear—including creases and tears—it’s a significant piece of comic book history. The current high bid is $5,250, and the auction continues for another 13 days.
